Here are a few hotels on the list I found interesting:

Each hotel sets their own blackout dates and restrictions for the $50 daily credit, so be sure to check the terms and conditions before you book.  This promotion is only for new bookings.

Make sure promotion code “PAMX”  is applied to your booking.  If you book through the promotion page, it should be applied automatically.

If you choose a hotel overseas, be sure to pay with an AMEX that doesn’t have foreign transaction fees, like the AMEX Platinum Card or AMEX Premier Rewards Gold card.

Link:   Citi ThankYou Premier

Via View From the Wing, when you transfer your Citi ThankYou points to Hilton through January 6, 2016, you’ll get ~33% more points in your Hilton account.

Normally, the transfer ratio is 1,000 Citi ThankYou points to 1,500 Hilton points.  But with this deal, you’ll earn 2,000 Hilton points for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou points you transfer.

Get 2,000 Hilton Points for Every 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points You Transfer by January 6, 2016. That’s a ~33% Bonus

Folks with the Citi Prestige or Citi ThankYou Premier cards can transfer to air and hotel partners.

This could be a good deal if you’re close to an award stay at Hilton hotels, or for folks who have a particular award stay in mind.

That said, the best use of Citi ThankYou points is to transfer them to airline partners for Big Travel.

For example, you could transfer your points instead to Singapore Airlines, then use them for United Airlines award tickets (because they’re both part of Star Alliance), like:

  • A round-trip, coach ticket within North America for 25,000 miles
  • A round-trip, Business Class ticket within North America for 40,000 miles
  • A round-trip, coach ticket from North America to Hawaii for 35,000 miles
  • A round-trip, Business Class ticket from North America to Hawaii for 60,000 miles

And folks with Citi Prestige can book paid flights on American Airlines (even international flights!) using Citi ThankYou points at a rate of 1.6 cents per point.

Check out all the ways to earn Hilton points if you need more!

Book With Promotion Code “MEGAPTS” to Get 10,000 Bonus Club Carlson Points per Night Through the End of the Year

Be sure promotion code “MEGAPTS” is applied when you book 1 of the hotels on the list.

Keep in mind the promotional rate is often higher than the best available rate, so you’ll have to decide if the price difference is worth an extra 10,000 Club Carlson points.

If you have a stay coming up with Club Carlson, this is an easy way to earn a lot of extra points!  If you don’t already have a Club Carlson account, it’s free to join.

Folks with the the US Bank Club Carlson card, will also earn 30 Club Carlson points per $1 spent on your stay (10 Club Carlson points per $1 spent for having the card and 20 Club Carlson points per $1 spent, plus 35% bonus points for having Club Carlson Gold elite status, which comes with the card)!

  1. Above link for SPG mentioned by Oct. 9…???

  2. NVM, account opened by not open link by 🙂

  3. NVM, account opened by Oct 9th not open the link by that date 🙂

  4. I would think transfering 1 ThankYou point to 2 Hilton is not a good idea since 1 TahnkYou point worht approx 1.5cent and Hilton point about 0.5cent.
1 ThankYou to 3 Hilton points would be a fair value for me …. let me know if I am missing something here.

  5. Seriously, the security questions that Starwood is asking you to answer are the dumbest questions I have ever seen. What is your favorite food? What is your favorite airline? What is your favorite…. I don’t have a single favorite so it makes answering these questions impossible. I was able to answer where I went on my honeymoon and my “verbal password”, but I had to stop there, as I knew I wouldn’t be able to remember any of the other answers. I wish the people that came up with this stuff would survey people to see if they can come up with answers. Dumb….

  6. TOTALLY agree with Mark. I was hard pressed to find ONE answer that was definite and that I would remember. I do not have a favorite country, airline, food, hotel etc. I know for a fact that if I ever have to answer these questions again, I won’t remember what I wrote. Plus for my honeymoon (the only definite answer), I put the country, but if I need to answer the question in the future, I’m not sure if I will fill out the resort, the city, or the country…….dumb vague questions!

  7. Re the dumb SPG security questions, one way to remember your answer is just to make your answer be the question itself, i.e., “What’s your favorite country?” Answer = “favorite country” etc.

  8. Daraius, as one of your loyal followers, I need your help to re-subscribe. I cancelled my subscription before a long cruise, and now the website won’t let me re-subscribe. It says I’m already subscribed. And I keep missing your good information!
