How Do You Use the Hilton Weekend Night Certificates?

You’ll earn the 2 weekend night certificates after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve account.

Hilton will email you the certificates within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the minimum spending requirement.  But to book a room, you have to call Hilton at 800-446-6677.

To Use Your Weekend Nights, You’ll Have to Call

There are a few other details to remember:

  • The certificates are valid for 12 months from the date they’re issued
  • They can only be used for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night stays
  • Only the primary cardholder can use the certificates
  • The room rate and taxes are included, but gratuities, incidental charges, and resort fees are NOT (although some folks report certain hotels will waive the resort fee!)
  • You can only book a standard room (not a premium room or suite) with these certificates

And if you accidentally delete the email (or don’t receive it), don’t worry – the certificates should still show up in your Hilton account when you call them!

Note:   You’ll only get the $100 statement credit if you spend at least $100 on your 1st Hilton stay within 3 months of opening your account.

Bottom Line

There are plenty of ways to make the most of your 2 weekend night certificates from the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card.  And you’ll usually get a great value by using them at expensive European hotels!

Which European Hilton hotels would you add to the list?

  1. Do you know when the 2 nights for $10,000 spend a year show up on account? Is it after the card anniversary?

  2. With regards to the WA in Rome ,did you use the 7th floor for the drinks/snacks(Imperial Room)? Did you have to pay to use the pool? Thanks,we are heading there in Oct.

  3. Once you earn the 2 free weekend nights, how long do you have to use them? 6 months? 1 year? The free night with the Marriott card expires in 6 months, though I usually can get them to extend it another 6 months.

I would like to use these for a big trip I am planning in June 2016 so I need to plan when to apply for the card.

  4. It was greata to meet you and Emily this weekend!!!!!

  5. We’ve used points to stay at the Waldorf Hilton, London. It’s pretty nice and you can eat in the lounge for breakfast, tea, and happy hour if you are wanting to save money on meals. It’s 239 pounds ($355)/night for a random Saturday in August. Great location next to Covent Garden/Theater District. At the time it was 50,000 points/night, but looks like it’s 60K now. I’d stay there again.

  6. St. James Conrad in London should be near the top of this list…

  7. Which of these hotels allow 4 people in a standard room?

  8. Good to know that the Waldorf in London gave you free breakfast and lounge access. I didn’t think that Waldorf hotels gave golds free breakfast. I don’t think the Rome Waldorf does anymore. Rome was one of the few Waldorf’s that did, but quit.

  9. Hi Daraius, will you also make a post for great hotels to use hilton free weekends in US?
Thinking about going to use it at Waldorf Astoria in Utah.

  10. Regarding: “The certificates are valid for 12 months from the date they’re issued.”
Does that mean you have to book the room/make the reservation within 12 months OR you have to stay at the hotel within 12 months? THANKS for any clarification! I would hate to mess up my travel plans.

I would add the Trianon Palace at Versailles. It is literally a palace!

  13. Excellent suggestion submitted by Scott, which may apply to every Conrad Hotel, as I have fond memories of one on Brickell Avenue, Miami, Florida.
