The Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card is 1 of my favorite hotel cards because with it you can earn 2 weekend nights at nearly any Hilton.
And that includes their very expensive luxury hotel brands in Europe!
And currently there is a limited-time $100 statement credit for your 1st Hilton stay by making charges to your room, like hotel restaurants and spa treatments!
So here are 5 European hotels where you could make the most of your weekend night certificates! This is NOT a comprehensive or best-of list, but it might spark your imagination!

Normally, the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card gets you 2 weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) at almost any Hilton after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your account.
But for a limited time, you’ll also get a $100 statement credit when you spend $100 or more on your 1st stay at a Hilton hotel within the 1st 3 months of opening your account. That’s a great deal!
Note: If you’ve opened or closed a Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card in the past 18 months, you won’t get the 2 weekend night sign-up bonus or statement credit.
And don’t forget, the card gets you Gold Elite status, which can save you money with free breakfast!
5 Excellent Hilton Hotels in Europe Where You Can Stay With Your Certificates
1. Amsterdam: Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam
It’s a Hilton category 10 (top tier) hotel and normally costs 95,000 Hilton points per night. I checked the price of a paid stay in August, and you’d pay 425 euros a night, or ~$458.
So by using your 2 weekend night certificates, you’d get a 2-night stay valued at ~$916!
If you prefer spring travel, you might consider a trip during the Keukenhof Flower Show, which runs from March until May. It’s been called the most beautiful spring garden in the world.
2. London: London Hilton on Park Lane
London is 1 of my favorite cities, because that’s where Emily accepted my marriage proposal! And the London Hilton on Park Lane is in a great location – within walking distance of Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park.
This hotel costs 80,000 Hilton points a night in May. And a paid room costs 489 British pounds, or ~$730!
By using 2 weekend night certificates, you’ll get a stay worth ~$1,460!
3. Munich: Hilton Munich City
Link: Hilton Munich City
Hotels in Munich are very expensive during this time. It’s a Hilton category 8 hotel, and normally costs 70,000 Hilton points per night in peak season.
A paid night on a September weekend during Oktoberfest costs 389 euros, or ~$419.
That’s a fantastic deal!
4. Paris: Hilton Paris Opera
Link: Hilton Paris Opera
Emily and I are fond of Paris, because we stayed there for our honeymoon at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome. But the Hilton Paris Opera is also an excellent hotel and just a short walk down the road. It’s a Hilton category 9 hotel.
A room here in August costs 80,000 Hilton points. Or you could pay 299 euros a night, or ~$322.
In this case, you’ll get ~$644 worth of hotel nights from your 2 weekend night certificates!
5. Rome: Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri
Emily and I used Hilton points to stay at the Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri when we traveled to Europe 2 years ago. We were impressed with the decor and the excellent pool & spa. Although it’s a bit far from the major tourist attractions!
At this Hilton category 9 hotel, you’ll pay 80,000 Hilton points per night.
A paid stay here in July costs 339 euros per night, or $365.
So by using the 2 weekend night certificates, you’d get a stay worth ~$730!
Another Hilton hotel in Italy Emily and I enjoyed was the Hilton Molino Stucky in Venice. I know I said I’d limit it to 5 but I couldn’t resist! It’s located right on the water (so you have to take a water taxi to get to the main part of Venice!).
How Do You Use the Hilton Weekend Night Certificates?
You’ll earn the 2 weekend night certificates after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve account.
Hilton will email you the certificates within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the minimum spending requirement. But to book a room, you have to call Hilton at 800-446-6677.
There are a few other details to remember:
- The certificates are valid for 12 months from the date they’re issued
- They can only be used for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night stays
- Only the primary cardholder can use the certificates
- The room rate and taxes are included, but gratuities, incidental charges, and resort fees are NOT (although some folks report certain hotels will waive the resort fee!)
- You can only book a standard room (not a premium room or suite) with these certificates
And if you accidentally delete the email (or don’t receive it), don’t worry – the certificates should still show up in your Hilton account when you call them!
Note: You’ll only get the $100 statement credit if you spend at least $100 on your 1st Hilton stay within 3 months of opening your account.
There are plenty of ways to make the most of your 2 weekend night certificates from the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card. And you’ll usually get a great value by using them at expensive European hotels!
