1.   10,000 Spirit Airlines Miles

Via Mommy Points, you can get up to 10,000 Spirit Airlines miles when you combine the following 3 promotions.

10,000 Spirit Airlines miles can get you a 2 round-trip off-peak award tickets for flights of 1,249 miles 1-way or less.  So you and your partner could fly from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale for 10,000 Spirit Airlines miles round-trip.

You have to pay for carry-on bags, checked bags, assigned seats, and water, but a free flight could be worth it to some folks.  Although it’s not worth it to me!

A.   8,000 Free Spirit Airlines Miles for Hating an Airline

I wrote about this before, but the offer is still around: you can get 8,000 Spirit Airlines miles when you tell Spirit Airlines how much you hate them or another airline.

Each person can only get the promotion once.

B.   1,000 Spirit Airlines Miles for Shopping

When you shop at the “Free Spirit Online Mall,” you can get 1,000 Spirit Airlines miles on your 1st purchase by December 31, 2014.

There’s no minimum purchase required and some stores, like Target are offering free shipping.  So you can buy a small item, like a bottle of shampoo for ~$3!

C.   1,000 Spirit Airlines Miles for Dining

Join the Spirit Dining program and get 1,000 Spirit Airlines miles when you spend $30 on your 1st dine.

You can combine this promotion with the $10 AMEX credit (up to $30 on each card) on Small Business Saturday and get a free meal and the bonus Spirit Miles!

2.   50% Bonus on Purchased JetBlue Points (Targeted)

You can get a 50% bonus when you purchase JetBlue points IF you were targeted for this offer.

Although you can buy up 45,000 JetBlue points for ~$890 or 1.97 cents per points, you shouldn’t.  That’s because JetBlue points aren’t worth that much.  And JetBlue has a revenue based system similar to Southwest.

So redeeming JetBlue points cost ~1.4 cents each.  So buying them at ~1.97 cents means you’re paying more than they are worth!

You Should NOT Buy JetBlue Points Even With a 50% Bonus

3.   $7 Hotel Rooms

Via Miles to Memories, you can get a hotel room for $7 on Black Friday (November 28, 2014) with the HotelTonight app.

The $7 price is only valid on rooms that night at participating hotels near shopping malls.

So it might not be worth it to some folks who have a hotel room booked somewhere else.  That’s because you’ll have to pay a cancellation fee to cancel your other hotel.

But it could be worth it to folks who need a last minute hotel if their flights get cancelled.

You can get a  $25 credit when using my promotion code: “ddubash”.

4.   Evolve Waives Express Payment Fees

Via Doctor of Credit, Evolve is waiving Express delivery payment (same day) fees through December 31, 2014.  (Evolve Money allows you to pay bills like utilities and student loans with debit cards and Discover card.)

Usually the fee is $1.50 per payment so paying $0 is better!  This is great for folks who sometimes forget when a payment is due and need to make a same-day payment.

5.   20% Off at Participating Hyatt Hotels

You can save 20% off at participating Hyatt hotels when you book by 11:59 pm Central Standard Time on December 1, 2014.

Use promotional code “C48NOV” to save 20% the daily rate at Hyatt hotels from December 15, 2014, to March 16, 2015, when you book by 11:59 pm Central Standard Time on December 1, 2014.

This could be good for folks who don’t qualify for AAA or My Elite Rates (perk for Hyatt Platinum and Hyatt Diamond members).  Or for when those rates aren’t offered.

But check to see that the promotional rate is really cheaper than the other rates!

  1. Hello Daraius, I love your blog! Thanks for all the great info! My question relates to trip cancellation coverage. We now do mostly award travel. Is there any benefit in trip cancellation coverage on award flights? What about regular travel insurance? Thanks again for sharing your abundant travel knowledge.

  2. Isn’t the 10000 mile price only for credit card holders on spirit?

  3. Miles will be posted to your FREE SPIRIT® account within 30 to 45 days of submission. Each participant may receive one (1) offer. Except where prohibited, participation in the Promotion constitutes recipient’s consent to Sponsor’s and its agents’ use of recipient’s name, likeness, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration. Submitting your hate feedback is not a means to submit correspondence to our Customer Support team. For assistance, visit customersupport.spirit.com.

Spirit will award up to one (1) billion miles for the Promotion and may modify or cancel the offer at any time. All award travel is subject to availability. The minimum miles required for one-way flight purchased with a Spirit MasterCard credit card is 2,500 miles, with taxes and fees starting at $2.50 ($5.60 after 07/20/2014). The minimum miles required for a one-way flight purchased with any other credit or debit card is 10,000 miles, with taxes and fees starting at $2.50 ($5.60 after 07/20/2014). Miles may be used in combination with already accrued miles that are available in the member’s FREE SPIRIT account balance. FREE SPIRIT program terms and conditions apply. Visit spirit.com for more details, and to view your FREE SPIRIT account balance.

  4. Spirit miles expire within THREE MONTHS so unless you have immediate plans to fly with them within that time frame, it isn’t worth pursuing.

  5. @Nick – The 2500 mile “off-peak” price is only for Spirit cardholders; the 10,000 mile standard awards are for everyone 😉

@Kim – You also have to pay huge close-in-booking type fees on any award ticket for travel less than 180 (!) days out…so it’s only worth pursuing if you have immediate plans to be somewhere in the second half of next year haha

  6. I have every hope my personal Spirit flights will remain memorable but unrepeated life experiences, much like the computer error that once landed me in jail on somebody else’s felony warrant for three hours.

  7. Spirit? I’d rather walk.

  8. Per Spirit Online Mall terms, personal care items are excluded for Target purchases. Doesn’t look like a Shampoo purchase would earn cashback and bonus miles.

Purchasing items in the Electronics, Books & Music, TV, Movies, Video games, Audio, Camera or Toys categories will receive a lesser reward. Target does not offer a reward on: Apple products, Amazon or Gift Card purchases, Prepaid Cards, Personal Care & Household Products (e.g. Groomers, Trimmers, Toothbrushes, Shavers, Mouthguards, Oral Care & Household Products) and Baby Care Products (e.g. Baby Toiletries, Diapers, Wipes, Formula & Food).
