How to Get the $25 Statement Credit

You must have a citi.com account and a personal Citi MasterCard such as the Citi Executive American Airlines cardCiti Platinum Select American Airlines card, etc.

And you must be new to Citi Wallet.  The $25 statement credit is only for your 1st purchase.

Business credit cards are NOT eligible.

So the Citi Prestige card IS eligible because it’s a personal MasterCard but the Citi ThankYou Premier card is NOT because it’s a Visa card.

Note: You can now transfer Citi ThankYou points earned with the Citi Prestige and Citi ThankYou Premier cards to airline and hotel partners.

I love when my miles & points credit cards also give away free money!  It’s been a good summer for AMEX discounts too, like these 3 latest AMEX offers.

  1. I donno man… I back you up regularly and talk about your blog to MANY of my friends, but this line just comes off as insincere & a blatant attempt to cram in as many links as possible:

“Business credit cards are NOT eligible.

So the Citi Prestige card IS eligible because it’s a personal MasterCard but the Citi ThankYou Premier card is NOT because it’s a Visa card.”

  2. I tried ordering a $25 Gift card from Newegg…do you know how long it will take for the credit to post onto my bill?

P.S. It was an honor meeting you in upstate NY by the Seminar, thanks for finally reveling your true identity:)

  3. How about multiple citi cards in one same online account? Do all of them qualify?

  4. Can you do this with multiple citi cards or only the first purchase on one card? Also, what about the citi hilton account vs. citi aa account which are two different account logins?

  5. You left out the part that says it’s only good for the first 4000 uses.

  6. On this page: https://online.citibank.com/US/JRS/portal.c?ID=CitiWallet

    It says,

What cards are eligible for Citi Wallet?
Right now you can use Citi Wallet with any Citi branded consumer credit card, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

So, you can use Visa cards?

I’m easily confused anyway, and this isn’t helping…

  7. Careful, fine print says it is limited to the 4000 first transactions !
So don’t buy something you would not buy otherwise.

  8. I was able to use my Citi Forward Visa from one Citi account and my Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Visa from another Citi account. Both went through fine with MasterCard MasterPass. So strange. Hopefully both $25 statement credits post to the cards.

  9. Do they always have to call when you set up the account?
    Was there another option?

  10. First 4000 transactions is nothing. Pass.

  11. Subrata Dutta

Here is the fine print for this $25 promotion !!!!

    * You will receive a one time statement credit after you make your first purchase of $25 or more and checkout using Citi Wallet with a Citi branded consumer MasterCard by 09/14/14. In order to qualify for this offer, the account must be open and current at the time the statement credit is applied. If your account is closed for any reason, including if you convert to another Citi product, you may no longer be eligible for this offer. Statement credit will be applied within 2 billing cycles. Offer is available to first 4,000 qualifying transactions.

  12. @BillyBob – You can use other cards, but will only get the statement credit with a Citi MasterCard per the terms and conditions.

  13. Dead as of a few days ago.

  14. Has everyone who participated in this offer received their statement credits? I have not and I definitely purchased while it was still active.
