With Thanks Again, you earn points in addition to any miles, points, or cash back you earn from spending on a rewards credit card.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to using Thanks Again. You can setup your account and use the program on a desktop or through the mobile app.
Step 1. Sign-Up for a Thanks Again Account
First, sign-up for an account, which is free.
Then, fill in your details including your name, email, and home airport. Or you can click on the right side of the page to register with your Facebook information.
Step 2. Link Your Cards
Next is the most important step. You must link your cards.
This way, Thanks Again knows when you make purchases at an eligible merchant and will add points to your account automatically.
On your account profile page, click “Card Wallet.” Then, click “Add Card.”
Now you will be able to enter your credit card information.
Step 3. Start Earning Thanks Again Points
Once your cards are linked to your account, you will automatically earn points after making a purchase at a participating Thanks Again merchant.
You can search through the list of merchants in the program, which are mostly airport restaurants and shops. After you click on a merchant, you’ll see how many points you earn. Typically, it’s 1 Thanks Again point per $1 you spend.
And if you have the mobile app on your Android or iOS device, you can open it at the airport to figure out which places earn points. This way, if you’re choosing between 2 similar restaurants or shops, you can go to the one that earns more points!
Step 4. Redeem Your Points
It’s easy to earn points. And simple to redeem points too!
Just click “Redeem” from your account profile page.
Then, you’ll see all the ways you can use your points.
You can transfer Thanks Again points to 8 travel partners, including:
- Aeromexico
- Alaska Airlines
- American Airlines
- Frontier Airlines
- Hilton
- JetBlue
- Southwest
- United Airlines
The transfer ratio to airline partners is 2:1. So you’ll get 250 airline miles when you transfer 500 Thanks Again points you transfer. With Hilton, the transfer ratio is 1:1.
You can also redeem Thanks Again points for a Visa prepaid card. A $5 card costs 500 points. Or you can get TSA PreCheck for 8,500 points.
Note: The minimum points redemption is 500 points, regardless of which option you choose. And it takes up to 7 days for Thanks Again points to transfer to your airline account. Why I Like Thanks Again and What I’d Love to See
Earning points with Thanks Again is free and easy. It’s similar to earning miles with airline dining programs. But Thanks Again allows you to add multiple credit cards, which is fantastic!
Having the flexibility to transfer Thanks Again points to 8 travel partners, including popular airlines like Southwest, is an amazing perk. This can be a great way to keep your existing airline miles or points from expiring!
On my wish list, I’d love to see Thanks Again add more merchants outside of airports. For example, they used to have a partnership with Uber, which was an easy way to earn points.
And it would be amazing to see additional travel partners. Perhaps Hyatt, which is Emily’s and my favorite hotel chain!
Bottom Line
Thanks Again is a free and easy to use rewards program, which lets you earn points for making purchases at certain merchants, including airport restaurants and shops. You just have to create an account and link your cards. And it’s optional, but folks might prefer to download the mobile app on an Android or iOS device to find merchants inside the airport.
You’ll typically earn 1 point per $1 at most merchants. Then, you can transfer points to 8 travel partners, including Alaska Airlines, Hilton, JetBlue, and Southwest.
This is a great way to top off your account if you’re short of an award redemption. Or if you’re looking to keep your existing miles or points from expiring!
