With the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 70,000 Arrival miles (worth $700 in travel statement credits) after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account.
Meeting the spending requirement of $5,000 will earn you an additional 10,000 Arrival miles (two Arrival miles per $1), so you’d earn a grand total of 80,000 Arrival miles. That’s worth $800 in travel!
You’ll earn 2x Arrival miles on ALL purchases and can redeem Arrival miles for eligible travel purchases of $100+ made in the past 120 days.
According to Barclays, eligible travel purchases include:
Airlines, hotels, motels, timeshares, campgrounds, car rental agencies, cruise lines, purchase and travel agencies, discount travel sites, trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, and the account annual fee as defined by the merchant category code.

Extended Warranty Protection
The Barclaycard Arrival Plus has extended warranty protection that will double the US manufacturer’s warranty, up to two years. Here are some restrictions you should know about:
- Qualifying manufacturer’s warranties must be two years or less
- You have to purchase the item entirely with your Barclaycard Arrival Plus
- Limited to no more than the original price of your item (as shown on your receipt), minus shipping and handling and up to $10,000 per item

Price Protection
A rare perk to find on credit cards these days is price protection, but the Barclaycard Arrival Plus still has it!
You could receive up to $250 per claim at a maximum of four claims per 12-month period. Just make sure you pay for your item in full with your Barclaycard Arrival Plus card and that you submit eligible claims within 120 days of purchase.
Purchase Assurance
Worried about your items being stolen or damaged? Your Barclaycard Arrival Plus covers damaged or stolen goods purchased entirely with your card.
You could claim up to $1,000 per item and up to $50,000 per card holder account every 12 months. Just note, this is secondary to any home, renter’s or personal insurance that may cover the same item.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Another protection seldom found is a satisfaction guarantee. If a retailer will not accept a return because you waited too long to return or you opened the item, you may be able submit with your Barclaycard Arrival Plus.
You can claim up to $500 per claim and up to two claims per 12 months. You must ship your item to Mastercard and it must be in original packaging and in good condition. And your purchase must have been made in full with your Barclaycard Arrival Plus card.

Because the Barclaycard Arrival Plus is a World Elite Mastercard, you’ll get complimentary 24/7 concierge service that acts like a personal assistant. If you need to locate a gift or reserve a table for your anniversary, give the concierge a call!
You can also arrange for a personal and dedicated agent to escort you through the airport for any flight (additional charges apply). They operate 24/7/365 at over 700 locations worldwide.

Trip Cancellation Insurance
We love to see these types of benefits, especially because we encourage our readers to travel!
Trip cancellation insurance protects Barclaycard Arrival Plus credit card holders against forfeited, non-refundable, unused payments and deposits if a trip is canceled for covered reasons. Coverage is available up to $5,000 per trip and up to $10,000 per 12-month period.
Baggage Delay Insurance
You could get up to $100 per day for up to three days if your baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours by the an airline or carrier service.
Only emergency essential items purchased can be reimbursed, so don’t go buying unnecessary things just to get $100 back. Any fare wholly charged to your Barclaycard Arrival Plus is eligible for this insurance.
Trip Delay Insurance
If your trip is delayed for more than six hours, you may receive up to $300 per claim. You can make two claims per 12-month period.
Only eligible travel expenses incurred from delays more than six hours because of inclement weather, equipment failure or lost travel documents will trigger this benefit.
Mastercard Luxury Hotel & Resorts Portfolio
Enjoy complimentary room upgrades, early check-in and late checkout upon availability, daily breakfast for two and other amenities at more than 2,000 hotels around the globe when booking a stay with a Mastercard Luxury Hotel & Resort.
And if you find the same exact prepaid hotel stay for less, Mastercard will refund the difference. The caveat here is that you have to submit your claim at least 72 hours before your reservation starts.
Some places, like The Langham Sydney, offer $100 hotel credit when you book using through Mastercard’s portal. Remember, you can redeem your Arrival Miles for these types of purchases.
Free Shipping With ShopRunner
So long as you keep your card open, you’ll get a ShopRunner membership. ShopRunner is like Amazon Prime but for over 100 retail stores! You get free two-day shipping and free returns with your online orders through participating retailers. An annual membership for ShopRunner normally costs $79.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
Some non-travel credit cards charge a 3% fee for any purchases made outside the US. That can even include reserving foreign hotels on the internet from within the US! The Barclaycard Arrival Plus doesn’t charge these ridiculous fees, so it’s a good card to use internationally.
Bottom Line
The Barclaycard Arrival Plus offers benefits that some card issuers don’t provide. Perks like price protection and satisfaction guarantee are becoming increasingly rare.
