    When you book a hotel through Rocketmiles, you can earn lots airline of miles from your favorite airlines.

    The hotel selection is a bit restrictive, but it’s possible to find a good deal.  And it definitely can make sense to book through Rocketmiles when they have a special promotion like this one!

    Here’s what you need to know:

    There is no stay-by date requirement, so you can book as far into the future as the hotel will allow.

    Is This a Good Deal?

    This could be a good deal if you like using Air Canada Aeroplan miles for award tickets on Air Canada or Star Alliance partners like Turkish Airlines or United Airlines.  And if you’re new to Rocketmiles, this is an excellent deal!

    New users can earn up to 30,000 Air Canada Aeroplan miles per hotel night.  That’s more than enough for a round-trip flight to anywhere in the continental US.  Or a one-way flight to Europe!

    But you’ll only get this amazing earning rate on your FIRST Rocketmiles booking.

    That said, very few hotels earn the maximum possible miles.  And the ones that do are typically very pricey.  But if you’d otherwise pay for an expensive hotel, it’s worth checking out.

    Just be aware that Rocketmiles is often NOT the cheapest option for booking a hotel room.  Earning airline miles on hotel bookings is nice, but it may not be worth it if you’re paying a lot more for the room.  And the selection is limited, so the hotel you’d like to stay at may not even be an option.

    If you’re new to Rocketmiles and can swing a hotel that earns a high number of bonus miles, you might consider skipping other current hotel promotions and booking a Rocketmiles stay first.  But definitely compare what you’d get with IHG Accelerate, Hilton Double Up, and Marriott Free Night MegaBonus to what you’d earn with Rocketmiles.

    And remember, you will NOT earn hotel points when you book through an online travel agency like Rocketmiles (though some folks report getting elite night credits).  And your hotel elite status will likely NOT be recognized.  So this deal is especially good if you’re staying at a boutique hotel where you wouldn’t earn those things anyway.

    If you want more Air Canada Aeroplan miles, you can transfer Starwood points and AMEX Membership Rewards points to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio.  And you’ll earn a bonus 5,000 miles when you transfer Starwood points in increments of 20,000.

    Bottom Line

    Rocketmiles is having a promotion to earn bonus Air Canada Aeroplan miles when you reserve a stay before December 31, 2017.  Existing users will earn an additional 1,000 miles on their next reservation, on top of the standard 1,000 to 15,000 miles per night.  And new users will earn DOUBLE the miles on their first booking (up to 30,000 miles per night)!

    Air Canada Aeroplan miles are useful for flights on Star Alliance partners like SWISS and United Airlines.  So even if you don’t fly on Air Canada, these miles can still come in handy!
