Through May 15, 2019, United Airlines is running its Mile Play promotion. This is a targeted deal, so not everyone is eligible and the exact offer varies by account.
I was targeted and can earn 3,800 bonus miles, but my wife’s account wasn’t targeted. I’ll share the details of this deal, and to continue getting the best miles & points travel deals delivered to you every day – subscribe to our newsletter.

United Airlines Mile Play Promotion
If you’re targeted it’s important to note that only activities started after you register (and completed by May 15th) will count toward the promotion.
Plus, each offer is a bit different so be sure to read the specific terms. My offer was to earn 3,800 United Airlines miles after booking and completing 1 United Airlines flight by May 15, 2019. But the flight must cost at least $250 to qualify for the bonus.
My team member Joseph was targeted to earn up to 2,500 miles for doing these 2 tasks:
- Booking and completing 1 trip (costing at least $125) to earn 1,000 bonus miles
- Shopping through the United Airlines shopping portal to earn 300 bonus miles
- Earn 1,200 bonus miles for completing both tasks
In the past with this promotion folks have been able to earn 10,000+ miles. But these bigger offers always come with more expensive or difficult tasks. For most people, this is a good promotion to sign-up for if you’re targeted and planned to complete the tasks anyway.
What deal were you targeted for?
If you’re looking for more United Airlines miles, they’re easy to collect with cards like these:
- United℠ Explorer Card

I was offered 26,000 miles for flying five times in a premium seat. That’s pretty easy for me… sweet deal!
Woohoo! That’s awesome 🙂 Do you fly a lot for business?
I’d have a hard time even finding the time to fly 5 times a year for personal reasons haha!
I’m a management consultant and would estimate I take about 100-120 flights per year (not including connections) 😉
