INSIDER SECRET: Through Hyatt’s ongoing Brand Explorer promotion you’ll earn a category 1-4 free night certificate for every five different Hyatt brands at which you complete a qualifying stay. With four new brands being added this year, it’s easier than ever to earn free nights.

Last year Hyatt announced the acquisition of Two Roads Hospitality, and throughout this year it has been slowly integrating the luxury properties into the World of Hyatt loyalty program. Two Roads Hospitality was comprised of four brands: Destination Hotels, Alila, joie di vivre Hotels & Resorts and Thompson Hotels.

Here are nine new locations (with the integration date) that will be added in the coming weeks:

  • Quirk Hotel – Richmond, VA (August 20th)
  • Motif Seattle (August 20th)
  • Tempe Mission Palms Hotel and Conference Center (August 20th)
  • The Carolina Inn – Chapel Hill, NC (August 20th)
  • The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch (August 21st)
  • Rizzo Center – Chapel Hill, NC (August 21st)
  • The Elms Hotel & Spa – Excelsior Springs, MO (September 10th)
  • Hotel De Anza – San Jose, CA (September 10th)
  • Alila Yangshuo – Guilin, China (September 24th)

I’m not sure which category the Alila Yangshuo will fall under, but the other hotels will all be in categories 2-4 and cost 8,000-15,000 Hyatt points per night, so you’ll have more locations where you can use The World Of Hyatt Credit Card’s annual category 1-4 free night certificate.

Hyatt also has plans to add Destination Residences locations. These include privately owned condo resorts, villas and vacation homes in top destinations like Hawaii, Lake Tahoe and Vail. We’ll share more details about that when they become available; I’m interested to see how the points earning and redeeming will work for those vacation homes.

If you plan on staying at any of the former Two Roads brands before December 31, 2019, there is an ongoing promotion which doesn’t require any registration. To qualify you just need to be a Hyatt member (this guide will show you how to create a Hyatt account) and book directly with the hotel or Hyatt. You’ll be able to earn 2,000 bonus points for your first qualifying stay with each of the four new brands: Destination Hotels, Alila, joie vi vivre Hotels & Resorts and Thompson Hotels. In addition to the up to 8,000 bonus points, you can also earn a free night certificate. The free night is valid at category 1-4 hotels and will expire 180 days after it is issued.

One nice thing about this promotion is that award stays will count. You can read more about the hotel additions and see the terms of the promotion here.
