You Can Use JetBlue Points to Fly Internationally, Including Cancun, Mexico

Highest Ever JetBlue Plus Card Bonus

Through December 31, 2017, you can earn 60,000 JetBlue points (worth ~$840 in JetBlue airfare!) after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening with the Barclaycard JetBlue Plus card.

The previous offer was for 40,000 JetBlue points, and this is the highest bonus I’ve ever seen on the card!

Along with the valuable sign-up bonus, you’ll also get:

  • 5,000 JetBlue points (worth ~$70 in JetBlue flights) each year on your account anniversary
  • 6 JetBlue points per $1 spent on JetBlue purchases
  • 2 JetBlue points per $1 spent at restaurants and grocery stores
  • 1 JetBlue point per $1 spent everywhere else
  • Free first checked bag for cardholder and up to 3 companions on the same reservation when you use your card to pay for your ticket
  • 50% discount on eligible in-flight purchases like cocktails, food, and movies
  • 10% of points rebate on redemptions
  • Annual $100 statement credit when you purchase a Getaway Vacation Package for $100 or more
  • Earn JetBlue Mosaic elite status each year after spending $50,000 or more on purchases (free first and second checked bag, early boarding, free alcoholic beverages)
  • No foreign transaction fees

The $99 annual fee is NOT waived the first year.

If you recently signed up for the JetBlue Plus Card with a lower sign-up bonus, you might be able to get matched to this offer.  Especially if your application was approved within the last 30 days.  But you’ll have to contact Barclaycard and there are no guarantees.

Is This a Good Deal?

This is a great deal for fans of JetBlue.  Because the sign-up bonus is worth ~$840 in JetBlue flights.  And you’ll save even more with the other card benefits, like free checked bags!

You Can Redeem JetBlue Points for Flights on Hawaiian Airlines, and Escape the Cold This Winter!

If you’re looking to get away somewhere warm this winter, you can use your stash of JetBlue points to book an award on JetBlue’s partner Hawaiian Airlines.

Lots of folks love JetBlue for the extra legroom in coach.  And team member Scott can’t get enough of JetBlue’s unlimited snacks, especially the Cheez-It crackers. 😉

That said, this is NOT the best card for beginners.   Because I typically recommend folks apply for any Chase cards they want first.

That’s because Chase has some of the most valuable credit cards for getting Big Travel with Small Money!  And their strict application rules mean you might not be approved if you apply for lots other cards first.

Bottom Line

The Barclaycard JetBlue Plus card’s sign-up bonus is the highest it’s ever been!

Through December 31, 2017, you’ll get 60,000 JetBlue points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.  That’s worth ~$840 in JetBlue airfare!

The annual fee of $99 is NOT waived for the first year.  But perks like free checked bags can easily offset the fee.

We don’t earn a thing for this offer, but we’ll always tell you about great deals like this!

I just applied for the 40k card and got approved this week. I haven’t even received the card in the mail yet. Is there a way for me to get this 60k offer instead?

Million Mile Secrets

It is possible, but not guaranteed, that Barclaycard will match you to the higher offer. I would send a secure message or give them a call and ask. The customer service number is 866-928-8598.

Thanks! I ended up calling a customer service number I found when I clicked on “Contact Us”. The rep said no. And that I would have to be targeted for the 60k offer. I sent a secured message immediately after. But that will take hours for a response. If that fails, I guess that I’ll try the number you just gave.

Million Mile Secrets

Good call on sending a secure message. If that doesn’t work, maybe calling and talking to a supervisor will get the job done.

Here is an older post on reconsideration phone calls. You aren’t making a reconsideration call, but the principles still apply to your situation, especially #4 & #5.

Can’t believe it, but according to my latest statement, it looks like I finally got the extra 20k points on top of the introductory 40k points.

I think mentioning being a loyal customer was key to getting a case number. Then just calling once a week or so afterwards. I was fed many excuses, but I finally was transferred to someone who asked me to forward them a screenshot of the 60k points offer. Then he immediately put in for a 20k point adjustment. Thanks again for all your info and suggestions.

Thanks again. I got a canned message back from the secured message that I would have to call in.
I called the number you provided, but the rep said that their system was down for maintenance. I called again this morning. The rep told me that I have to receive an email for a targeted offer. I told them that I am looking right at the offer and can get to the offer through a website without a problem. Then the rep said that I would have to spend the $1k first and then call and try to open up a case, but she could not guarantee that I would get approved. Since I read your linked article, I mentioned how I am a loyal Barclays customer and have had their savings account for many years. I also added that I heard that if I don’t ask within the first 30 days, that I would not get approved. She finally let me open a case and gave me a case number. But she seemed very pessimistic of my approval because I hadn’t spent the $1k yet. She told me that I would get a letter in the mail with a decision.

What are the rules for applying for Barclay cards?

Million Mile Secrets

Here is a post covering bank application rules, including Barclaycard:

Does this offer apply to the Jet Blue business card as well?

Nope. The business is the same, at 30,000.

I would like to know if it applies to JetBlue Business Card also. I am trying to stay under 5/24.

Million Mile Secrets

Unfortunately, the JetBlue business card offer is still 30,000 JetBlue points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days

Well that is mega-annoying. I applied for the Jetblue card a couple months ago, and the 40k points just posted last week. Pretty sure they wouldn’t match a bonus I already received, even if I literally just received it, so probably no point in calling. 🙁

Million Mile Secrets

Bummer. You’re probably right that you wouldn’t get matched. But it won’t hurt to try a call or chat with customer service.
