Good news for folks with hotel elite status! If you have elite status with a competing hotel chain, like Choice, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, or Starwood, Hilton will upgrade your HHonors Elite status to match.
This deal might be targeted, but it’s worth trying! Because with Hilton Elite status you’ll get perks like room upgrades, extra bonus points, executive lounge access, and more!
I’ll show you how to apply for the status match.

Million Mile Secrets team member Keith was on Instagram and saw an advertisement for a F status match. The terms & conditions say the offer is NOT transferrable, so it could be targeted. But it’s worth trying because applying for a match only takes a few minutes.
With Hilton elite status, you can get perks like late checkout, bonus Hilton points, and room upgrades for the next 90 days. And Hilton will give you an opportunity to extend the match through March 31, 2018.
How to Apply
To apply, fill out a short form and submit proof of your status with another hotel chain. You’ll also have to include proof of a stay with that same hotel chain within the last 12 months.
If you haven’t had a hotel stay in that timeframe, don’t worry! It’s possible to submit proof of an upcoming stay. So you can book a night with a refundable rate and then cancel after you submit your status match. Though I can NOT guarantee this will work!
Also, there is no chart to see which status you’ll need to match each of Hilton’s Elite levels. But the Hilton status match site lets you choose from several loyalty programs including Choice, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, or Starwood. And lots of folks have reported using their IHG Platinum Elite status to earn Hilton Diamond status, their highest status.
You May Already Have Elite Status With Another Hotel
Because IHG Platinum Elite status is automatic with the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card, this can be an easy way to earn status with another hotel brand.
Here’s my post about which hotel cards give you the best perks (like Elite status!).
Hilton is currently offering a status match. And although it could be targeted, it’s worth trying. Because it only takes a few minutes to apply!
So if you have Elite status with a competing hotel chain, like Hyatt, IHG, or Starwood, fill out the status match form and submit proof of your status, along with proof of a stay at that particular hotel chain within the last 12 months.
