Through January 31, 2018, you’ll be able to earn and use Hyatt points for experiences like a helicopter ride over Chicago, an afternoon behind the scenes at the San Francisco Zoo, backstage passes to a Broadway play, and more!
Because Hyatt is partnering with IfOnly, a marketplace that sells once-in-a-lifetime experiences like these!
I’ll share more about this partnership. And help you decide whether these deals make sense for you!
Travel-Worthy Experiences With Hyatt
Link: World of Hyatt IfOnly Experiences
Through January 31, 2018, you’ll be able to earn and redeem Hyatt points for unique experiences through IfOnly.
It’s similar to Starwood’s SPG Moments. And because Starwood’s former VP is now the leader of Hyatt’s loyalty program, I’m not completely surprised to see Hyatt running a promotion like this!
With this deal, you can use your Hyatt points to pay for these experiences through IfOnly. Or earn 3X Hyatt points per $1 spent on packages, instead!
Is It Worth It?
Most of the packages being sold on IfOnly are pricey. For example, you can spend an afternoon with Chef Jonathan Waxman and get dinner for 2 at his famous New York City restaurant, Barbuto, for $3,000. Or use 375,000 Hyatt points instead of cash. (Any foodies out there? ;))
At those rates, I’d much rather save my Hyatt points for stays at expensive hotels! Because using 375,000 Hyatt points for a $3,000 experience means you’re only getting a value of 0.8 cents per point ($3,000 / 375,000 Hyatt points).
Instead, you could use 30,000 Hyatt points for a free night at a swanky hotel, like the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme. Rooms here regularly go for ~$795+. So your Hyatt points are worth ~2.7 cents each (~$795 / 30,000 Hyatt points).
That’s 3 times the value you’d get using them for the restaurant experience through IfOnly!
That said, for folks that have lots of Hyatt (or Chase Ultimate Rewards points!) to spare, some of these deals could me worth it. So take a look through the marketplace to see if you can find an experience you just can’t live without! 😉
Bottom Line
For a limited-time, you can earn and redeem Hyatt points for once-in-a-lifetime experiences through IfOnly. A curated online marketplace that sells these unique packages.
The deal is good through January 31, 2018. But most of the experiences are expensive, whether you’re using cash or Hyatt points! So you’re likely better off saving your hard earned Hyatt points for stays at expensive Hyatt hotels instead.
