Through December 31, 2017, you can earn 10,000 bonus Hilton points for a 2+ night stay at almost any Hilton hotel (excluding Hampton by Hilton hotels in Mainland China), when you register for the deal and pay with your AMEX Platinum card.

To earn the bonus points, you MUST enroll in free Hilton Gold status through your AMEX Platinum card.  Check out this post about registering your card for this great perk.

Plus, you can only earn the bonus once.  But both the personal and small business versions of the AMEX Platinum card qualify.

Is This Deal Worth It?

This offer could definitely be worth it if you already have a paid Hilton stay planned.  But I wouldn’t go out of my way to take advantage of this deal.  Even though it should stack with Hilton’s latest Stay More, Earn More promotion.

That said, if your only goal is to earn more Hilton points, folks with the AMEX Hilton Surpass card are better off using that card instead of the AMEX Platinum card, IF your stay costs ~$833+.  Because with the AMEX Hilton Surpass card, you’ll get 12 Hilton points per $1 you spend at Hilton.  And 12 Hilton points X ~$833 = ~10,000 Hilton points.

For example, if you register for this deal and spend $1,000 on a 4-night stay in San Francisco, you’ll only earn 10,000 Hilton points for paying with your AMEX Platinum card.  But you’ll also earn AMEX Membership Rewards points.

But if you pay for your stay with the AMEX Hilton Surpass card, you’ll earn 12,000 Hilton points (12 Hilton points X $1,000) for your booking!

Just keep in mind, other chains are offering promotions too, like IHG Accelerate.
