Getting prepped for the onslaught of Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals? So are we.

There are plenty of ways to save, and many will line up outside of Walmart or Best Buy at the crack of dawn to get the jumbo TV for half of the normal cost. But for many of us, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be ordering items from the comfort of our couch.

Fortunately, Citi is out with a fantastic deal that will save you 5% on all online purchases from Nov. 24 to Nov. 30. This 5% back is offered as a statement credit and is on top of the points you already earn from spending on your credit card. Even better, this deal is available to most Citi credit card holders.

Earn 5% back for online purchases with Citi credit cards

With this deal, you’ll get 5% back on online purchases up to $500, or a total of $25 back. Purchases made with popular retailers like Amazon, Walmart.com and Target.com should qualify.

If you don’t have anything you were planning on buying right now, you could consider loading up your Amazon wallet for future purchases to take advantage of this credit.

You need to register here before you make any purchases. It seems like most Citi credit cards are eligible, like the Citi Premier® Card and American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp℠ Card. I saw it available on all three of my personal Citi cards, so you should be able to use the deal multiple times if you have more than one eligible product.

Just note that only Citi cards opened before Oct. 23 are eligible for this promotion, additionally some small business Citi credit cards and authorized user cards won’t work.

Stacking the deal

If you have a Citi Prestige® Card, you’ll be able to stack this deal with the current deal that offers 5x points on all online purchases, up to $1,500, through Dec. 31. That equates to a whopping 13.5% back based on our points valuations.

Additionally, you can stack the deal with points or cash back earned from a shopping portal, like Rakuten, which is even offering its highest ever bonus ($40 or 4,000 Amex points) when signing up for a new account through a referral link and spending $40 with a Rakuten-affiliated site within 90 days.

The information for the Citi Prestige Card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Bottom line

While not all Citi credit cards may offer the best return when it comes to earning points for online purchases, this deal makes it more than worth it for those shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
