Now through the end of January 2019, you can score up to 2,500 bonus American Airlines miles with a targeted offer being sent to cardholders of the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard®.  This offer can earn you 5X American Airlines miles per $1 spent at computer and electronic stores.

This is a great category for this time of year because we are seeing huge sales on electronics right now, allowing you to find a good deal on something PLUS earn 5X American Airlines miles from it.  It’s possible other Citi cards are being targeted for different offers, so keep an eye on your email.

The information for the CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Cardholders can Earn 5X Miles per $1 at Computer and Electronic Stores Through January 31, 2019.

You will need to be targeted for this offer and activate it before you can start earning the bonus points.  Activation requires an invite code, so check your email for the subject line: “Use your CitiBusiness / AAdvantage card to earn 5X AAdvantage miles on eligible purchases.”

Citi defines Computer & Electronics Stores as merchants that sell, repair or lease a wide variety of electronic goods, including computer hardware, software, and related equipment.

I am a bit bummed to see the cap on this offer so low.  At 5x American Airlines miles per $1, that means that spending just $500 will get you to your maximum 2,500 mile bonus.  Because the computer and electronics category can often lead to multi-thousand dollar transactions, I really wish this cap was higher.

The CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard® is one of the easiest ways to earn American Airlines miles.  Right now you can open it and earn 70,000 American Airlines miles after spending $4,000 within 4 months of account opening.  You can read our full review of the card here.
