If you follow our newsletter, you know tons of ways to earn bonus Chase Ultimate Rewards points (our FAVORITE kind of points).  For example, you can earn sign-up bonuses from cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, make everyday spending in valuable bonus categories, and enroll in fun promotions.

The best part about Chase Ultimate Rewards points is that you can spend them in all kinds of ways!  You can transfer them to hotel and airline partners.  You can buy travel at a big discount through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal.  You can redeem them for straight cash.  You can even use them to buy gift cards.

And through October 31, 2018, you’ll get a 10% discount when you use your points for select gift cards.

Our Favorite Use for Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Is TRAVEL.  But If Gift Cards Make You Happier, That’s Alright, Too!

Examples of qualifying gift cards are:

  • Google Play
  • Macy’s
  • Microsoft Xbox
  • Overstock.com
  • Yankee Candle

You can click this link and log into your account to take advantage of the deal.

When you redeem your points for gift cards, you’ll get a value of 1 cent each.  So with this 10% discount, you’ll get a value of ~1.11 cents each.  That is NOT the best use for Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  You can get much more value if you use them for travel instead.

For example, you could transfer 15,000 points to Hyatt and stay at The Confidante Miami Beach hotel, which can easily cost $300+ per night.  That’s a value of ~2 cents per point ($300 hotel room / 15,000 points per night).

Or you could redeem your points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal for a plane ticket at 1.25 cents per point.  Still a much better value than gift cards.

However, some folks might still like to redeem their points with this 10% discount promotion.  That’s okay, too!  Spend your points in whatever way make you the happiest.

Will you be jumping on this Chase Ultimate Rewards points gift card promo?
