You’ll earn 70,000 Arrival miles when you open the Barclaycard Arrival Plus and spend $5,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.  If that spending sounds a little intimidating, read this post to learn how you can accomplish it with very little effort!

Arrival miles are worth 1 cent each.  So 70,000 miles is worth $700.  And because this card earns 2 miles per $1 on all purchases, you’ll have a total of 80,000 miles by the time you earn the bonus ($5,000 minimum spend X 2 miles per $1 + 70,000 mile bonus)!

Plus, the card comes with NO foreign transaction fees, so it’s great to use abroad.

You can redeem Arrival miles for eligible travel purchases of $100 or more made with your Barclaycard Arrival Plus card in the past 120 days.  Just use your card as you normally would, and then go to your online account and erase the travel purchases later!

Every time you redeem miles for travel, you’ll get a 5% rebate.  This effectively increases that 2% return to a 2.1% return on all your purchases when you redeem for travel.

This card has an $89 annual fee, waived the first year.  It comes with a lot of other cool stuff, too.

Note:   Barclays is one of the tougher banks when it comes to credit card approvals.  You’ll typically only be approved for 1 or 2 Barclays cards a year.  And if they see a lot of recently opened cards, or if you haven’t been using the Barclays cards you already have, you’re likely to be denied.
