    Emily Jablon:  After we landed, we took a speed boat ride to the hotel where the staff greeted us and checked us in!
    At the InterContinental Thalasso
    Daraius:  As soon as we landed, we went to the InterContinental desk at the airport where we were given color-coded garlands so that the staff of the different hotels knew which boat to put us on.

    We identified our bags and got into the boat for a direct transfer to the Intercontinental Thalasso.  The Bora Bora airport is on an islet (motu) by itself, and there are 2 ways to get to the Intercontinental Thalasso from the airport.

    The first way is the most convenient way which is to pay 9,053 XPF ($98) including taxes, per person for a return transfer from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport.  We selected a one way transfer (~40 minutes by boat) for 4,600 XPF ($50) per person  since we would not be returning to the airport from the InterContinental Thalasso, but would be visiting the Hilton in Bora Bora.

    The cheaper (the only cost is ~$22 to $27 for the taxi), but longer way (~2+ hours) to get to the Intercontinental Thalasso from the Bora Bora airport is to:

    1. Take the free boat transfer (Bora Bora Navette) provided by Air Tahiti from the airport to Viatape (the main port in Bora Bora)
    2. Take a taxi from Viatape to the InterContinental La Moana (sister hotel of the Intercontinental Bora Bora).  The journey is ~4.5 miles and should cost ~2,000 ($22) to 2,500 ($27) XPF.
    3. Take the free boat transfer from the InterContinental La Moana to the Inter Continental Thalasso.  The free boat runs ~ every hour or two (I’ll upload the schedule, once I figure out how to scan on my new printer).

    It was slightly cloudy but beautiful outside.  All the arriving passengers had goofy grins (like us in the picture below)…
