If you have a side gig outside your regular 9-5 job such as mowing lawns, reselling items on eBay — or just about anything you’re trying to make a little extra money with — you can qualify as a small-business owner. And as a small-business owner, you’ll have even more choices in rewards programs by being able to choose from the best business credit cards.
Many credit cards with the best rewards programs carry some sort of annual fee, but there are some great cards that do not.
The Ink Business Cash℠ Credit Card is one of those cards. In fact, it has many features that make it one of the best Chase credit cards. You can earn a strong cash-back welcome bonus, earn rewards for your daily purchases and be covered with a number of different purchase protections and perks.
If you’re a small-business owner looking for a way to get something back for your everyday purchases, read on for five reasons you should apply for the Chase Ink Business Cash card.
No annual fee
We like cards with no annual fee because they don’t cost you anything to keep year after year. In fact, the Chase Ink Cash is one of the best no-annual-fee cards for business owners because you’ll still get tons of value from the card.
Sign-up bonus
Cards that carry no annual fee often don’t have anything particularly exciting to offer in terms of a welcome bonus. The Chase Ink Cash, however, is an exception. In fact, right now the card is offering one of the highest sign-up bonuses we’ve seen.
You can earn $500 cash back (50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) as an intro bonus after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening. You’ll earn the bonus points in the form of Ultimate Rewards points, which are worth 1 cent per point. This makes it easy to redeem for the equivalent $500 cash. You can learn more about the card in our Chase Ink Business Cash review.
With such a lucrative welcome bonus and no annual fee, you’ll come out ahead a winner from day one.
Valuable bonus categories
If it seems like your bills and expenses are never-ending, why not at least get something back with those daily purchases? With the Chase Ink Business Cash, you’ll get a ton of benefits and perks, including the ability to earn bonus points in a number of different categories:
- 5% cash back (5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar) on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores, phone, internet, and cable TV services each account anniversary year
- 2% cash back (2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar) on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas station and restaurants each account anniversary year
- 1% cash back (1X Chase Ultimate Rewards point per dollar) on all other purchases
Travel and purchase protection
The Chase Ink Business Cash comes with a handful of purchase and travel protections that could wind up saving you tons of time, money and hassle if you ever need to file a claim. For instance, the card carries purchase protection, which covers eligible purchases against damage or theft for up to 120 days, with a pretty high limit of $10,000 per item and $50,000 per account.
You’ll also get extended warranty protection on eligible purchases, which can offer one additional year of warranty coverage on the original manufacturer’s warranty of three years or less. This extended warranty coverage comes at no extra charge to you as the cardmember, and it could save you tons of money, especially on big-ticket items.
You can also take advantage of primary rental car insurance coverage. If you’re on a business-related trip and your car is damaged by theft or collision, primary rental coverage kicks in right away and you won’t even have to file a claim with your own insurance company. This may sound too good to be true, but rest assured it’s not. MMS team member Joseph once went through the claims process when his rental car was damaged, and it saved him over $2,300.
Pairing the Ink Business Cash with Chase Ultimate Rewards cards
The Chase Ink Cash earns Ultimate Rewards points, which can be redeemed for things like cash and gift cards. If you also have an eligible card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve® you can pool your points to have them be worth up to 25-50% more through the Chase Travel portal.
Pairing it with one of those eligible cards also gives you the ability to transfer your points to Chase travel partners for things like hotels and airfare.
Bottom line
The Ink Business Cash Credit Card is an excellent card to carry if you’re a small business owner with lots of spending in office supply stores; on phone, internet, and cable TV services; or at gas stations or restaurants. Redeeming rewards is flexible and simple, as you can choose from gift cards, cash or travel. Plus, you can even pool your points with an eligible card and transfer to any of Chase’s travel partners to use those points for airfare and hotels.
Even if you’re not sure this is the right card for you, it won’t cost you a penny because the card carries no annual fee. And with the ability to earn a $500 welcome bonus after meeting minimum spending requirements, you’ll come out a winner from the day you become a cardmember.
