I have the Dosh app on my phone, which pings me after I pay for a meal and tells me I earned free cash back.  All I did was link was my cards one time, and so far, I’ve gotten almost $100 back!

It’s similar to the unexpected miles I get in my airline loyalty account.  And on top of the rewards I earn by paying with one of the best credit cards for dining.

Cash back amounts for dining are between 5% and 10%.  That stacks with the unlimited 4% cash back you’ll earn on dining with the Capital One® Savor® Cash Rewards Credit Card.

When you dine at certain restaurants, cash back totals from credit card rewards, Dosh app earnings, and airline miles can add up to be nearly 20% back!  I love saving money, especially when you add free cash back and airline miles to the mix!

Dosh App Review:   Automatically Save an Extra 5% to 10% on Dining

To get started, pull up this link on your phone and it’ll load the appropriate version of the app for your phone (iOS or Android).

After installing, create a login.  Dosh is location-based, so you’ll need to set your current location.

At this point, you can see where you can save nearby.  For example, I go to Brio Tuscan Grille for their happy hour often once in a while, and get 5% cash back each time.

Other restaurants offer 10% cash back, like a gelato shop down the street.  Your restaurant selection will be different from mine, so it’s worth exploring.

But to earn cash back, you need to link a bank or card!

To do that, tap the 3 horizontal lines in the top left corner.  You will see this:

Tap “Accounts & Cards” to link your debit or credit cards.

You can also link your checking and PayPal accounts to transfer cash into them once you accumulate $25 in rewards.  It adds up fast.

And that’s it!  Once you add your cards, which takes ~2 minutes, you don’t have to touch this part of the app ever again (unless you get new cards in the future)!

Now you’re ready to start Doshin’.

You can scroll through the list of nearby merchants, or tap the map icon in the lower right corner to see them displayed on an interactive map.

You’ll save at least 5% at participating restaurants – and up to 10%.  You can also get discounts on gas, clothes, shoes, furniture, and much more.

Pretty cool for a free app!

Earn Airline Miles, Too!

It’s really cool when you free earn airline miles in addition to free cash back from Dosh.  We have a complete guide on how to sign-up for Rewards Network dining that lets you earn miles with popular airlines including American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, and United Airlines.

I personally opt to earn Alaska Airlines miles.  When I went home for Thanksgiving, I treated my mom to brunch at Bayou Bar & Grill in Memphis.

Right after we paid, I got an email from Dosh.

And a few days later, I saw I’d also earned Alaska Airlines miles.

But that’s not all.  I paid with my Chase Sapphire Reserve card and earned 3 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1, too!

In total, I got:

• 5% cash back from Dosh
• 5% back in the form of Alaska Airlines miles (although I value them much higher)
• 4.5% back from paying with my Chase Sapphire Reserve (because each point is worth 1.5 cents toward travel)

That’s a nearly 15% return, which is great savings.  And when the Dosh app offers 10% back and you can earn airline miles, the total return would be closer to 20%, which is just fantastic.

I love using the Dosh app for automatic discounts of 5% to 10% cash back at local restaurants.  The rewards you earn are in addition to airline miles and rewards from using the best credit cards for dining.

For example, you can stack your savings with unlimited 4% cash back on dining with the Capital One Savor card.

All you have to do is link your cards once.  Then dine at a participating restaurant for automatic cash back!  You can transfer your rewards to your bank or PayPal account when you reach $25, which happens faster than you might think.  I got my mom hooked on Dosh – she loves it!
