I typically prefer to use my miles & points for expensive Business or First Class seats I wouldn’t otherwise pay cash for.  But it can be harder to find available Business or First Class award seats.  However, if your flight happens to not originate or end in the US, you may have better luck finding deals.

The other key to being able to book these awards is taking advantage of an airlines’ partners.  And if you’re looking to get between Europe and Asia, you’ll have a hard time finding a better deal than using Etihad miles to book a Business Class seat on Czech Airlines.

With this deal, you could book 2 one-way flights in lie-flat Business Class seats for 11 hours+ with just the Citi ThankYou points you could earn from the sign-up bonus and minimum spending with the Citi Premier® Card.

Your Citi ThankYou Points Can Get You to Prague Cheaply

How to Book Czech Airlines Business Class With Citi ThankYou Points

Czech Airlines isn’t a Citi ThankYou transfer partner, but Etihad is and you can use Etihad miles to book awards flights with Czech Airlines.  Here is the Etihad partner award chart for Czech Airlines:

To fly to/from Prague, Czech Republic and Seoul, South Korea, it’s only 25,610 Etihad miles one-way or double that for a round-trip award.  You will have to pay ~$200+ in taxes and fees per one-way Business Class award ticket or ~$360 for a round-trip Business Class award.

The Business Class seats Czech Airlines has for the flight between Seoul and Prague aren’t world class by any means, but they do lie-flat and at that price you’ll feel even better because you just got a stellar deal.  The cash price for the same flight is ~$1,800+ one-way or ~$2,200 to $3,000+ round-trip, so even at the cheapest price you’re still getting ~3+ cents in value per Citi ThankYou point once you include the taxes & fees.

You can’t make the booking online, so you’ll have to call Etihad at 877-690-0767.  I suggest using Expert Flyer to find the award seats you want before calling in and then spoon feeding the flight numbers and dates to the phone agent.  I found up to 2 available Business Class award seats and up to 3 coach award seats on plenty of flights.

“Z” Are Business Class Award Seats and “E” Are Economy Award Seats
