Can we combine the two 2-night awards [from the Chase Hyatt card] between a couple to have a 4 day stay [at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos or Hyatt Zilara Cancun]?
When you complete the minimum spending requirement on the Chase Hyatt card, you get 2 free nights at any Hyatt hotel. And Christina would like to stay in Mexico at either the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos or the Hyatt Zilara Cancun.
Can a couple, each with 2 free nights from having the card, string together their nights for a 4-night stay?
Yes, You Can!

You’ll get 2 free nights at any Hyatt from the Chase Hyatt card after you spend $1,000 in purchases in the 1st 3 months. This isn’t my link, but I’ll always share the best offers with you even if they don’t earn us a commission.
And according to the terms and conditions, those 2 nights could be at Hyatt Ziva and Zilara all-inclusive hotels!
Each Free Night Award is valid for use within one year from issuance for one (1) night in any available standard room at any Hyatt Hotel or Resort worldwide or participating M life resorts. Free Night Awards at Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva are based on single or double occupancy only.
So if 2 folks each got the card, they could book 4 consecutive nights (2 nights each) using their free nights, as long as there are award nights available. This applies to any Hyatt hotel, not just the all-inclusive resorts.
In my experience, hotels are usually very good about not making you check-out and check-in again when you string free nights together like this.
Note: You can NOT reserve all-inclusive award nights online. Call Hyatt at 800-228-3360 to book your award stay. You can explain that you’re each using 2 nights but would like the same room for your entire stay.Or, you could email the hotel general manager and explain that you’d like your reservations combined into 4 nights.
Is the Chase Hyatt Card Worth It?
Absolutely! This is 1 of my favorite sign-up bonuses because you can use the free nights at any Hyatt. And you’re not restricted to certain days of the week. Some Hyatts cost over $1,000 per night. So your 2 free nights could be worth over ~$2,000!I checked the price for 2 adults at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun in April, and it costs $616 per night (and that’s with a 45% promotional discount!).
So if a couple each used their 2 free nights from the Chase Hyatt card, they’d get a stay valued at $2,464 (4 nights x $616 per night). That’s a great deal from 2 credit card sign-ups!
While I haven’t been to 1 of these all-inclusive Hyatt hotels yet, I’m sure Emily would enjoy the spa and unlimited virgin Pina Coladas. And I wouldn’t mind a week of all-you-can-eat seafood!
As for the Hyatt card, I also like that you get free Hyatt Platinum Elite status. So you’ll get a better room if available, late check-out, and free internet (although Hyatt will offer free internet to all guests beginning February 2015).
The annual fee of $75 is waived for the 1st year. And you get a free night in any category 1 to 4 Hyatt on your card anniversary.
And remember, you won’t pay foreign transaction fees with this card. So it’s a good card to use when you travel abroad!
Bottom Line
If a couple each got the Chase Hyatt card, they could combine their 2 free night sign-up bonuses for a 4-night stay at any Hyatt. Including Hyatt’s all-inclusive Ziva and Zilara hotels.
You’ll have to call to book, but you can put 2 separate 2-night reservations into a 4-night stay. And you probably won’t have to check-out and check-in again if you explain the situation.
Thanks for the question, Christina! I haven’t tried these all-inclusive resorts yet. But I can imagine a romantic dinner overlooking the beach with Emily followed by another romantic dinner and maybe a romantic midnight snack! 🙂
