Now let’s look at 5 hotels in the US where you can make the most of these certificates!

Normally, the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card gets you 2 weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) at almost any Hilton after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your account.

But for a limited time, you’ll also get a $100 statement credit when you spend $100 or more on your 1st stay at a Hilton hotel within the 1st 3 months of opening your account.  That’s a great deal!

Note:  If you’ve opened or closed a Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card in the past 18 months, you won’t get the 2 weekend night sign-up bonus or statement credit. Hilton hotels include Conrad, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, and Waldorf Astoria brand hotels.

And don’t forget, the card gets you Gold Elite status, which can save you money with free breakfast!

5 Excellent Hilton Hotels in the US Where You Can Stay With Your Certificates

1.   Chicago:  Waldorf Astoria Chicago

I went to school in Chicago, and I love to go back to visit.  The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is ranked #1 in US city hotels by Conde Nast Traveler.

It’s a Hilton category 10 hotel (their top tier)!  While in Chicago, you could visit Navy Pier or 1 of the many museums, like the Museum of Science and Industry.

Note:   Certain museums (such as the Art Institute of Chicago) are free the 1st weekend of each month when you show your Bank of America card.

One night at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago in July costs 95,000 Hilton points.  Or you could pay $425 per night!

So you’d get a stay worth $850 if you used your 2 weekend night certificates here!

2.   Maui:   The Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort

Emily and I had a wonderful stay at The Grand Wailea when we visited Maui a couple of years ago.  It’s truly a beautiful resort, with many pools, restaurants, and an excellent spa.

While in Maui, you could consider trekking to the top of the Haleakala volcano, or driving the road to Hana, which is known for being a beautiful (but long) journey!

The Grand Wailea is a Hilton category 10 hotel.  I checked for rooms in February and you’d pay 80,000 Hilton points, or $599 a night!

Using your 2 weekend night certificates, you’d get a stay worth almost $1,200.  That’s an amazing value!

3.   Miami:  Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach

If you like palm trees and the beach, but prefer a shorter flight, the Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach could be a good choice!  It’s right on the ocean and close to shopping and restaurants.

While in Florida, don’t forget to sample some of the delicious local seafood!  Miami Beach is known for its vibrant nightlife (and great people watching!).

Back in 2011, I took Emily to Miami for a birthday surprise.  Emily enjoyed the music, dancing, Art Deco architecture, and the beach.  But not the seafood because she’s allergic!

This is a Hilton category 9 hotel.  For a stay in November, you’d pay 60,000 Hilton points per night or $429.

You’d get $858 value by using your 2 weekend night certificates at this hotel!

4.   New York:  Conrad New York

The Conrad New York is located in lower Manhattan near the financial district, Wall Street, and the New York Stock Exchange.  Some folks say the rooms at the Conrad New York are nicer than other Hiltons in New York.

If you don’t mind the subway, the location is OK.  But others might prefer the Hilton Times Square or Waldorf Astoria instead, because they’re closer to midtown Manhattan.

The hotel is within a short subway or cab ride to many interesting neighborhoods, including Tribeca, Chinatown, and SoHo.   And it’s close to the 9/11 Memorial.

A Hilton category 9 hotel, Conrad New York costs 70,000 Hilton points for a night in August.  Or you could pay $399!

So for a 2-night stay, you’d pay almost $800.  I’d rather use the 2 weekend night certificates!

5.   Utah:  Waldorf Astoria Park City

Folks looking for an unforgettable ski vacation should consider using their weekend nights at the Waldorf Astoria Park City.  But it’s beautiful in the summer, too!

The outdoor pool is kept open (and heated) all year!  And if you visit in the summer, there’s hiking and golf courses nearby.

This is a Hilton category 9 hotel, and costs 80,000 points per night during peak season.  The paid rate for the same room is $659!

For 2 nights, you’d pay over $1,300, so using your 2 weekend night certificates here is an excellent deal!

How Do You Use the Hilton Weekend Night Certificates?

You’ll earn the 2 weekend night certificates after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve account.

You’ll get the certificates via email within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the minimum spending requirement.  But to book a room, you have to call Hilton at 800-446-6677.

There are a few other details to remember:

• The certificates are valid for 12 months from the date they’re issued
• They can only be used for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night stays
• Only the primary cardholder can use the certificates
• The room rate and taxes are included, but gratuities, incidental charges, and resort fees are NOT (although some folks report certain hotels will waive the resort fee!)
• You can only book a standard room (not a premium room or suite) with these certificates

And if you accidentally delete the email (or don’t receive it), don’t worry – the certificates should still show up in your Hilton account when you call them!

Note:   You’ll only get the $100 statement credit if you spend at least $100 on your 1st Hilton stay within 3 months of opening your account.

Bottom Line

There are so many options in the US to make the most of your 2 weekend night certificates from the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card.  By choosing otherwise expensive hotels, you’ll get the best value.
