The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card is currently offering an increased sign-up bonus of 60,000 American Airlines miles after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account.  In addition to the sign-up bonus, you’ll earn:

• 2X American Airlines miles per $1 spent on American Airlines flights
• 2X American Airlines miles per $1 spent at gas stations and restaurants
• 1X American Airlines mile per $1 spent on other purchases

You’ll actually earn at least 63,000 American Airlines miles (60,000 bonus miles + at least 1 mile per $1) after meeting the $3,000 minimum spend.

1.   Miami Area

South Florida is home to many beaches and has warmer weather almost year around.  The region has beaches that stretch from West Palm Beach in the north to Miami in the south, giving folks plenty of options to choose from.  Some of the most popular ones include Miami Beach, Pompano Beach, and Delray Beach.  We enjoyed a break from the cold winter in January by taking a weekend trip to Deerfield Beach, which is just north of Fort Lauderdale.

Should You Consider the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Card?

The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card has a $99 fee that is waived the first year.  In addition to the increased sign-up bonus after meeting minimum spending requirements, the card also offers:

With these perks, I have held onto this card for a few years now, and it could make sense to add it to your wallet as well.  However, even if you are unsure if this card is right for you, keep in mind that the annual fee is waived the first year.  So you can try this card out for ~11 months and maybe even book a beach vacation during that time.  🙂

You won’t earn the sign-up bonus for this card if you have opened or closed any other personal Citi AAdvantage Card (like the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®) in the past 24 months.  This only includes cards in the AAdvantage “family” issued by Citi, not other cards they issue.
