You can get award nights at Hilton hotels in popular destinations like Hawaii or Miami. Or visit romantic European cities like Paris and Venice!
What’s the Deal?
Link: Citi Hilton Visa 50,000 Points Offer
Via Milecards, you can earn 50,000 Hilton points when you sign-up for the Citi Hilton Visa and spend $1,000 on purchases within the 1st 4 months of opening your account.
That’s the same minimum spending requirement as the regular offer on the card. But with this deal, you get an extra 10,000 Hilton points!
Hilton hotels include Canopy, Conrad, Curio, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations, Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, and Waldorf Astoria brand hotels.10,000 Hilton points is enough for 2 award nights at a Hilton Category 1 hotel. Or 1 award night at Hilton Category 2 hotels.
And the total offer of 50,000 Hilton points is enough for an award night, depending on the season, at Hilton hotels like the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort or the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach.
You’ll also get:
- 6 points for every $1 you spend at Hilton hotels
- 3 points for every $1 you spend at supermarkets, drug stores, and gas stations
- 2 points for every $1 you spend on everything else
- Free Hilton Silver elite status (late check-out, 2 free bottles of water, and 15% points bonus on Hilton points earned)
- Free Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast) after staying 4 times at Hilton in the 1st 90 days or after spending $20,000 in a calendar year
- 10,000 Hilton points at the end of a calendar year when you spend $1,000 or more at Hilton hotels
This card has NO annual fee, so it’s a good card to keep forever to help boost your credit score. But it’s not good for travel abroad, because it adds a 3% foreign transaction fee.
Because the Hilton HHonors Visa is issued by Citi, you get Citi Price Rewind protection for certain purchases.
Many folks have been able to earn the sign-up bonus again even if they’ve had the card before.
But according to Citi, you can NOT get the bonus if you’ve opened or closed the same card in the past 18 months.
Note: If you sign-up, keep in mind the usual Citi card application rules apply. Only 1 card application per day, at least ~8 days between applications, and no more than 2 applications within ~65 days!Should You Sign-Up?
This is better than the regular offer of 40,000 Hilton points. But there have been offers as high as 75,000 Hilton points in the past.
But if you already have other Hilton cards, or prefer a card with no annual fee, this could be a good choice for you.
Or, if you want to build your Hilton points balance for an award redemption and don’t want to wait for a better offer, you might decide to apply.
If you spend a lot at Hilton hotels, other cards earn more points for Hilton stays.
My favorite Hilton card is the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve, because you get 2 weekend nights at almost any Hilton, including the Conrad Tokyo, when you complete the minimum spending requirements. Plus, you get Hilton Gold elite status for free breakfast.
That said, if you already have the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card, or prefer a card with NO annual fee, the Citi Hilton Visa card is a good choice. Or you can have both because they’re considered different card products.
Remember, there are lots of ways to earn Hilton points!
Bottom Line
You can earn 50,000 Hilton points when you sign-up for the Citi Hilton Visa and spend $1,000 on purchases within the 1st 4 months of opening your account.
This is better than the regular offer of 40,000 Hilton points, with the same minimum spending requirements. But there have been offers as high as 75,000 Hilton points.
That said, if you already have other Hilton cards, or want a card with NO annual fee, this could be a good choice for you!
