Via View From the Wing, AMEX Starwood credit cardholders are getting an unexpected extra from their card!

Folks are reporting that both the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express and the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express are giving twice as many elite night credits and stay credits as normal.  I checked with a few Million Mile Secrets team members, and they’re reporting the same thing!

I’ll tell you what this means for you.

Both AMEX Starwood credit cards come with an automatic credit for 5 nights and 2 stays toward Starwood elite status.  So if you hold both cards, you’ll automatically have 10 nights and 4 stays toward elite status!

That’s helpful, because it only takes 10 stays or 25 nights to earn Gold Elite Status.  So just by having the 2 cards, you’re well on your way to earning benefits like 50% bonus points for every stay, room upgrades, welcome amenities, and more!

Plus, it looks like this year, the AMEX Starwood cards are giving DOUBLE the normal amount of stays and credits!

For example, team member Jasmin received 4 stays and 10 nights just for having 1 card!

This is NOT normal, so we don’t know for sure if these credits will stick.  But View From the Wing points out that some folks claim to have received an email alerting them that they’d be receiving these extra credits.  So we’ll have to wait and see!

Bottom Line

The AMEX Starwood credit cards have each given cardmembers 10 nights and 4 stays towards elite status this year.  That’s DOUBLE the normal amount, and very helpful towards reaching Starwood elite status.  Especially if you hold both Starwood credit cards!

We don’t know if these credits will stick, or if it’s just an accident.  Cross your fingers!
