Great news for Southwest fans!

Via Travel With Grant, there is a new price tracking tool that can help you save money (or points) on Southwest flights.  Say hello to Southwest Monkey!

We’ll be doing a full review of Southwest Monkey next week, so stay tuned.  But I’ll show you the basic details now.

How Southwest Monkey Saves You Money?

Southwest Monkey is a quick and easy way to potentially save on your Southwest flights.  All you have to do is enter your flight information, email, and payment details.  If the price of your ticket drops, you’ll get an email alert letting you know.

You pay nothing, unless you save more than $10 or 600 Southwest points.  And then, it’s only $3 per price alert.

You can only having one booking on each alert.  And if the price drops, you’ll have to do the re-booking yourself.

Southwest Monkey Is Simple and Straightforward to Use!

Is It Worth It?

This is a great tool for those who love flying Southwest!  Because essentially, the service is free unless you’re saving money or points!

Also, Southwest doesn’t allow 3rd party websites to display their fares, so the price of Southwest flights can be hard to track.  And constantly searching and re-searching the Southwest website for price changes is time consuming.  So Southwest Monkey can save you time, too!

Plus, Southwest does NOT charge change or cancellation fees.  So your savings won’t get eaten up by those pesky extra costs.

Bottom Line

Southwest Monkey can help you save money (or points!) on Southwest flights!

All you have to do is set up a price alert, and you’ll get an email if the price drops.  It costs $3 per alert.  But you won’t be charged unless the price drops at least $10 or 600 Southwest points.

Stay tuned for our in-depth review next week!

Tripit Pro will also let you know of a price drop with Southwest. Some large employers who use Concur for expense reports get Tripit Pro bundled for their employees to use for free.

Thanks for sharing this, Jill!

Tried to register a flight with SWMonkey. After giving them my credit card info got an error message: Error submitting information. Please try again later.

Too bad. I was hoping this was legit. Now I have to cancel that card :/

Shannon, I am sorry you had a bad experience. We have been making the sign up more streamlined, which broke our website for a few hours last week.
Give us a shot again 😉

That sounds extreme, for a website error.

They probably got slammed with traffic once this story broke.
