I've made habit out of never letting a single mediocre flight experience go unreported and I've been richly rewarded for it. On a recent trip on Southwest our flight was delayed an hour and a half and I wound up with $225 in vouchers (for three of us). I follow a simple formula that includes never mentioning weather and saying something memorable.

That said, the only time I ever use miles for magazines is to generate activity to keep them from expiring.

This is great info. My parents are retired and like to get mail 🙂
