Via One Mile at a Time, many folks can buy Alaska Airlines miles and receive up to a 50% bonus!  That’s the highest bonus I’ve ever seen for buying Alaska Airlines miles.

Depending on how many miles you purchase, you could buy Alaska Airlines miles for less than 2 cents each!  But this is a targeted offer, so you’ll have to sign-in to your Alaska Airlines account to see if you qualify for the 50% bonus.

Earn Up to 50% Bonus When Buying Alaska Airlines Miles

Link:   Buy Alaska Airlines Miles

Through July 1, 2017, you can get up to a 50% bonus when you buy Alaska Airlines miles if you’re targeted for this deal.  Up to a possible 30,000 bonus miles!

You will only get a bonus if you purchase at least 10,000 miles.  You’ll get:

  • 20% bonus on purchases between 10,000 and 19,000 Alaska Airlines miles
  • 35% bonus on purchases between 20,000 and 49,000 Alaska Airlines miles
  • 50% bonus on purchases between 50,000 and 60,000 Alaska Airlines miles

Are You One of the Lucky Folks Targeted to Earn 50% Bonus Miles?

You can buy up to 60,000 Alaska Airlines miles per transaction.  And there’s no limit to the total number of miles you can buy.  So do the math to see what makes sense for you!

Is This a Good Deal?

You’ll get the best value if you buy at least 50,000 Alaska Airlines miles with a 25,000 mile bonus.  You would receive 75,000 miles, and pay $1,478 (after taxes), or 1.97 cents per point ($1,478 in cash / 75,000 Alaska Airlines miles).

Even though this is the highest bonus Alaska Airlines has offered, it’s still not a deal for everyone.  It’s still likely only worth it for folks who need to top-off their account for a particular award ticket.  Or for folks who want to fly Business or First Class for less money.

For example, it costs 60,000 Alaska Airlines miles one-way to fly Business Class on Cathay Pacific from the US to Australia.

With a 50% bonus, you could buy 120,000 Alaska Airlines miles for ~$3,547 and get 60,000 bonus miles, for a total of 180,000 Alaska Airlines miles.

Then you could fly your family of 3 to Australia in Business Class for just ~$1,182 per ticket ($3,547 spent for points / 3 tickets)!

You’ll Pay MUCH Less for Business Class Seats to Sydney If You Buy Points Through This Promotion Instead of Paying Cash for Your Seats. Just Remember, Award Seats Aren’t Always Available!

Paying ~$1,182 for a one-way Business Class ticket to Australia is a great deal!  Because if you were to buy a ticket, you could easily spend $2,500+.

And remember, you can also use Alaska Airlines miles for flights on other partner airlines, like Delta and Emirates.  And check out my post about how to use fewer miles for short flights with Alaska Airlines’ new award chart.

Note:   If you need more Alaska Airlines miles, you can sign up for the Bank of America Alaska Airlines cards (personal and small business) to earn 30,000 Alaska Airlines miles after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.

Or transfer flexible Starwood points to Alaska Airlines at a 1:1 ratio, and earn a 5,000 mile bonus for every 20,000 Starwood points you transfer.

You can also earn bonus miles by shopping through the Alaska Airlines shopping portal and dining rewards program.

Bottom Line

Alaska Airlines is targeting folks to earn up to 50% bonus miles when buying Alaska Airlines miles through July 1, 2017!  But you’ll have to buy at least 10,000 miles to get any bonus at all.  You’ll earn:

  • 20% bonus on purchases between 10,000 and 19,000 Alaska Airlines miles
  • 35% bonus on purchases between 20,000 and 49,000 Alaska Airlines miles
  • 50% bonus on purchases between 50,000 and 60,000 Alaska Airlines miles

This deal probably is NOT worth it for most folks, unless you have a specific award ticket in mind.  Or unless you want to fly Business or First Class at a discount.  Just do the math to see what makes sense for you!
