Some folks have received an offer to earn a $50 statement credit for adding an authorized user and spending a certain amount with cards like the Citi Prestige Card, Citi ThankYou Premier Card, and Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard, by March 31, 2017.

The minimum spending requirement to qualify for the deal varies, so check your email to see if you’ve been targeted!

Were You Targeted to Earn a $50 Statement Credit From Citi?

If you’ve been targeted, I’ll help you decide whether this offer makes sense for you.

Earn a Statement Credit With Certain Citi Cards

With this targeted offer from Citi, you can earn a $50 statement credit for adding an authorized user and spending either $2,000 or $3,000 by March 31, 2017.

Cards that are part of the offer include:

That’s a large spending requirement for such a small bonus.  So it probably won’t make sense for most folks, unless you’ve been considering adding an authorized user to your Citi Prestige card.

The Deal Is Sweeter for Citi Prestige Cardholders

Adding an authorized user to your Citi Prestige normally costs $50.

But with this deal, Citi is NOT charging an authorized user fee to Citi Prestige cardholders!  I’ve confirmed this with Citi by phone and secure message.

Targeted 50 Statement Credit On Certain Citi Cards
Citi Prestige Authorized Users Normally Cost $50, but They Get Their Own Priority Pass Select Membership. With This Deal, Authorized Users Are Free!

So if you add an authorized user to your Citi Prestige card and meet the minimum spending requirements for the deal, not only would you get a $50 statement credit, but you’d save an additional $50 off the normal cost of adding an authorized user.

That said, the only real benefit to adding an authorized user to your Citi Prestige card is that they get their own Priority Pass Select lounge access.  Authorized users do NOT get perks like the yearly $250 credit for airfare and baggage fees or $100 Global Entry credit.

However, any spending the authorized user makes with their card will count toward the $2,000 or $3,000 requirement to trigger the bonus.

Just be sure to add someone you trust, because you’re ultimately responsible for any charges they make.

Bottom Line

Some folks can receive a $50 statement credit for adding an authorized user and spending a certain amount with cards like the Citi Prestige, Citi ThankYou Premier, and Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select, by March 31, 2017.

The minimum spending requirement to qualify for the deal varies.  Check your email to see if you’ve been targeted.

This offer probably will NOT make sense for most folks.  Unless you want to add an authorized user to your Citi Prestige card.  Because they’re waiving the normal $50 authorized user fee with this deal.
