Use the Points & Cash Trick to Save Even More With IHG’s Latest Promotion!

I’ll show you how!

With IHG’s latest promotion, Platinum elite status members can get a 12% discount on the cash portion of a Cash & Points booking.  The deal is for reservations made by September 18, 2016, for stays through November 30, 2016.

And because you get automatic Platinum elite status with the Chase IHG card, IHG cardholders can take advantage of this promotion too!

Plus, you can stack this promotion with the Cash & Points Trick to save even more when you buy IHG points!

“Buy” Points for Less

Normally, IHG sells points for 1.15 to 1.35 cents each.  And you can buy IHG points for as little as 0.6 cents each with the IHG Points & Cash trick.

But if you combine the Points & Cash trick AND this promotion, you’ll pay even less for your IHG points!

Because when you book a hotel with Cash & Points and cancel your booking, you won’t get a refund on the cash portion.  You’ll get to keep the points instead.

And you can use those discounted IHG points for stays after the promotion ends!

  1. Brings the cost using the trick down from .6 cents to about .53 cents. Not a reason to over-invest.

It’s also a 15% discount offer for Spire Elite Members – got my email through the other day.

  3. Do any cash back portals work? I tried TCB but doesn’t seem to work.

  4. Can you transfer these purchased points to Southwest to count toward the Companion pass?

  5. If you add an additional user to the Chase IHG card, do they also have to pay an annual fee?

  6. I just rebooked an upcoming stay and save $5… thanks! Liz – I used Swagbucks for 8% cashback though I don’t have confirmation that it worked yet. Tim – no annual fee for an authorized user.

  8. @Liz – I can’t confirm that a particular portal will work. But it’s worth a try! 🙂

@Robyn – No, you can’t transfer IHG points to Southwest. And check out my post about 3 things that won’t get you a Southwest Companion Pass: http://millionmilesecrets.com/2014/01/12/3-mistakes-that-will-wont-get-you-a-southwest-companion-pass/

@Tim – There’s no annual fee for an authorized user with the Chase IHG card!
