  1. Do stays that are paid with by points count towards the Marriott promotion?

  2. @john – Only paid stays count toward Marriott’s MegaBonus promotion.

  3. Apparently my Marriott offer was “no offer”. It said I had no promotions, and I wasn’t registered for any. Yes, I am USA based.

  4. All this promotion about the Ritz Carlton yet no mention of the nasty resort fees that most location charge. Its dishonest and something you do not expect from Marriott. Do not understand why the government does not make hotel chains disclose the entire fee when booking just like the airlines must now do. The fees just hide the real rate of the room and so the hotel does not have to pay commission the resort fees. The Ritz Carlton in Aruba hit us with 14% resort fees that totaled over $65 a day for cooking classes, a welcome drink – totally useless stuff. Also the Marriott Visa card devalued their annual free night stay by increasing most hotels award levels about the level 5. I just received an update from Marriott about the Visa card that promotes the annual free night benefit at hotels 1 thru 5. However all the hotel pictures on the page are higher than level 5, misleading people to think this free night stay is available at those properties. Again something dishonest that you do not expect from Marriott.

  5. Would I be eligible as a ritz Carlton rewards member or is this only for Marriott members?

  6. Our reward is triggered by staying at Protea hotels in South Africa – unfortunately not likely

  7. @Beth: for me, i clicked on above MegaBonus link and use my Ritz log in. My membership is with Ritz and not Marriott but then again the system recognize both brands.

@Jb: Mine show the same with Protea but below that it show next promo which is the MegaBonus then i select the register. Once registered my offer details show below…

See details show this for me…
    It’s a win-win-win:

    Register by April 15, 2016
Stay at participating properties between February 1 – May 15, 2016
Win #1: Earn a free night after two stays
Win #2: Unlock your new bonus points offer – and register when it appears in your online account
Win #3: Every stay counts at 4,000+ hotels worldwide

  8. @Steve G – try looking again for the MegaBonus. It is displaying differently on the promotions page than it has previously. I found mine at the top left of the promotions banner.

I also received the free night after 2 stays and unlock a new points bonus offer later.

  9. Mine is Protea Hotels in Africa as well. That’s ridiculous. Nothing in my stay pattern would have me in Africa.

  10. I couldn’t find megabonus promotion first under my login. Then I read that I had to switch from mile to point for earn preferences and once I changed to point, I saw this promotion immediately.
