You Get $15 Off When You Buy $300 in Visa Gift Cards at OfficeMax

$15 Off $300 in Visa Gift Cards

You get $15 off your purchase when you buy $300 in Visa gift cards at OfficeMax by June 28, 2014.

But there is a limit of 1 coupon per transaction.  However, some folks report that you can make seperate transactions and get the discount multiple times.

So if you bought $600 in Visa gift cards in 2 separate transactions of $300 each, you would pay only $570.  That’s $600 for 2 Visa gift cards, less the $15 discount per card.

Worth It?

This is a good deal if you pay with a card that earns 5X points at office supply stores.

You can buy two $200 Visa gift cards for ~$399 ($400 in Visa gift cards + $6.95 Visa gift card fee x 2 – $15 discount) and earn ~1,995 points (~$399 x 5).

If your OfficeMax doesn’t have any $200 Visa gift cards, you can buy three $100 Visa gift cards.  Three $100 Visa gift cards will cost you ~$303 ($300 in Visa gift cards + $5.95 Visa gift card fee x 3 – $15 discount) and earn ~1,515 points.

If you don’t have a card that earns 5X points at office supply stores, buying Visa gift cards at a discount is also a great way to quickly complete minimum spending requirements.

And you can then use the gift cards for your regular spending!

How to Use Visa Gift Cards

You can load the Visa gift cards to:

You can pay bills that you normally can’t pay with a credit card with Evolve Money and Bluebird.  By loading your Evolve Money and Bluebird accounts with Visa gift cards bought with miles and points earning credit cards, you can quickly earn lots of miles and points!

You can pay bills like rent, mortgages, student loans, car loans, utilities, and store credit cards with Evolve Money. You can’t currently pay credit card bills, but that’s coming soon (however, they will charge a fee).  And because Evolve transactions are done online, this might be an easier option for those who don’t have a Walmart nearby.

But with Bluebird, you can pay your credit card bills along with other bills like your mortgage, utilities, and loans.  However, you have to go to Walmart to load your Bluebird.

Amazon Payments lets you send up to $1,000 a month to other people using your credit card or PIN enabled Visa gift cards.

The Visa gift cards sold by OfficeMax are issued by Metabank and currently can load a Bluebird, unlike the Vanilla Visa gift cards that can’t be loaded to Bluebird.

You can also use the Visa gift cards for your everyday spending.

  1. Dan's the Man

It was nice you at Dan’s seminar last night. When that guy came over to you and ask if you’re Darius why’d you say no?

  2. Who is the issuing bank of the Visa GC?

  3. Would be great if there were any $100’s or $200’s in stock anywhere in Dallas!

  4. The cards are issued by Metabank. Here is a link to my article which is the original source. http://milestomemories.boardingarea.com/officemax-15-off-300/

  5. I’m noob at this, but just FYI: I went to office depot in midtown Manhattan and they have strict rules on how visa/amex cards can be purchased. Cash Only and it’s posted everywhere.

I tried the Depot since the Max locator said it’s the only store around..

  6. Curtis,

  7. I cannot find – online – ANY gift cards at either office depot or office max. Can anyone shed light on this??? I wondered if perhaps my IP address was causing local stores to be bright up – I live middle of now here in a very rural state, Wyoming. But yet that doesn’t make sense – I don’t know of any major retail chain in which that would happen. Help????? Thnx
