Who Is Eligible for the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Card?
Before you apply for any credit card, you’ll want to make to be sure you’re in a situation where you can pay off your account in full each month. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay interest and fees that will likely negate the rewards you earn.
You’ll also want to make sure your credit score is healthy enough to be approved for the card. Having a score of 700+ is best. If you’re not sure what your credit score is, you can get it for free with the myBankrate tool.
Credit Cards Similar to the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Card
If you’re looking for a no-annual-fee credit card that earns cash back without the hassle of remembering rewards categories, you’ve got options.
No-annual-fee cards are great to have because they can help increase the average age of your accounts and your credit score. This is especially important if you have multiple credit cards.
For example, the Capital One® Quicksilver® Cash Rewards Credit Card earns a $150 cash bonus when you spend $500 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.
The card also earns 1.5% cash back on every purchase and comes with the following perks:
- Travel accident insurance – Insurance for death or dismemberment at no extra charge when you purchase your entire travel fare with your card
- Auto rental insurance – Secondary coverage for physical damage or theft for you and all additional drivers on your agreement
- Extended warranty – Additional warranty protection when you purchase eligible items entirely with your card
- No annual fee
- No foreign transaction fees
With no foreign transaction fees, this card is a better option if you plan on making a lot of purchases overseas.
The Chase Freedom Unlimited is a no-annual-fee credit card that earns 1.5% cash back on purchases in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards points. But this card could be much more valuable for folks who have an annual-fee Chase Ultimate Rewards earning card.
That’s because you can pool the Chase Ultimate Rewards points you earn with the Chase Freedom Unlimited card onto a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card. Then transfer those same points to travel partners like Hyatt, United Airlines, or Singapore Airlines to get Big Travel with Small Money!
If you’re looking for straightforward 1.5% cash back on every purchase without the expense of an annual fee, then the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa is for you. The card earns a $200 bonus after you spend $1,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.
But if you’re new to the miles & points hobby, I wouldn’t recommend it as your first card. Because there are lots of travel rewards credit cards with better bonuses to start with.
