Daraius: The Million Mile Secrets team, Emily, and I are VERY touched and warmed with your support for us and for Million Mile Secrets! We are the 2nd best Miles and Points blog in the recent 10Best Reader’s Choice Travel Awards (promoted by USA TODAY). 🙂
What an honor!
Thank you!
I’ve always loved the famous Avis tagline: “Try Harder. For example, “We’re Number 2. But We Try Harder”

We Try Harder
I actually prefer NOT ranking at the top. That’s because I don’t want the false sense of complacency which being #1 can breed.
And because there are LOTS of things which I want to do to make Million Mile Secrets a more useful place for y’all. If there is something not to your liking on the blog, I’m responsible for that.
I’m embarrassed that I can’t:
- Get to the comments as quickly as I’d like.
- Re-design the website quicker and make it less cluttered and easier to use
- Reply to every email because it would take up my entire day. But I do read every single email and LOVE hearing from you!
- Have a mobile-responsive site quick enough!
- Publish more longer posts
And yet, y’all voted for us, shared Million Mile Secrets with your friends, and connected with Emily and I every day over email, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
I *love* the personal interaction. And that interaction makes it hard to imagine a more fulfilling “job” in the world. I am so grateful to each one of y’all.
Thank you!
And credit for what works on the blog is because of the Million Mile Secrets team, who work very hard behind the scenes to keep the blog filled with content. There would be no blog without them.Thank you!
To folks who didn’t vote for us, I would love to learn what we can do so that we can be more relevant and of service to you and your family.
Bottom Line
I was honored Million Mile Secrets was nominated. I am honored we are #2. And we’re so thankful to our amazing readers for voting for us!
We’ll keep trying harder to be the most reliable and honest source of credit cards, miles and points news for y’all!
I consider every one of y’all a friend and I will do my best to help and support your dreams as much as I can!
