United Airlines Begins Flights to Tahiti (And You Can Fly There Round-Trip With Just a Single Sign-Up Bonus!)

A little over a week ago, United Airlines began its service between San Francisco and Tahiti, that dreamy never-never land in French Polynesia.

United Airlines is the first US airline to fly nonstop to Tahiti.  That’s good for you and me, because that means we’ll have more opportunities to redeem miles & points for a visit!

And it doesn’t cost as many miles as you might imagine.  You could earn enough points to fly round trip to Tahiti with just the sign-up bonus from the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card!

If You Want to Reach Bora Bora, You Must Fly Through Tahiti

United Airlines charges 35,000 miles one-way in coach (and United Airlines never passes along fuel surcharges!).  As a reference, that’s 5,000 fewer miles than American Airlines charges to fly on its partner, Air Tahiti Nui.

United Airlines will have year-round service to Tahiti, currently flying every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.  And on March 30, 2019, they’ll begin flying Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

More airline routes means more available seats, and therefore more award seats (hopefully)!  So if you have United Airlines miles, you’ve got more opportunities to use them for the ultimate Instagrammable vacation.

The fastest way to earn United Airlines miles is by opening a card that earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, like the Ink Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, or Chase Sapphire Reserve.  That’s because Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer instantly to United Airlines at a 1:1 ratio!

For example, you’ll earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you open the Ink Business Preferred and meet its minimum spending requirements (if you’re worried you can’t achieve it, check out this post!).

Just by earning that single bonus, you’ll have MUCH more than enough for a round-trip flight between the US and Tahiti on United Airlines!  Then you can use the tricks you learned here for free hotels during your stay.

Are you excited about this new United Airlines route?
