You’ll earn the bonus for up to $1,500 in purchases this quarter, for a maximum of 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points or $75 cash back.
But you have to activate the bonus to earn the extra points. You can activate any time until June 14, 2014, and still get bonus points for all your spending this quarter.
What’s the Chase Freedom Card?
Link: Chase Freedom
Emily and I love the Chase Freedom card because it’s easy to earn 5X the number of Ultimate Rewards points (up to $1,500 or 7,500 points a quarter) for purchases we would make anyway. You now get an extra 2,500 points for adding an authorized user who makes a purchase within 3 months.
The 5X bonus categories change every quarter. If you spend $6,000 a year ($1,500 X 4 quarters) you’ll get 30,000 Ultimate Rewards points or $300 cash back.
The Chase Freedom is a fee-free card, so it’s a good card to keep for a long time. This can increase your length of credit history and improve your credit score.
You can redeem the points earned for cash back, or transfer points to the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Bold, or Chase Ink Plus. From there, you can transfer points to airlines and hotels like United, Southwest, Hyatt, and IHG hotels.
Double Dipping Is OK!
And folks report using the Chase Ultimate Rewards shopping portal to earn extra points at Lowe’s for online purchases.
What will you do to make the most of this quarter’s bonus?
