Save 10% on Delta gift cards at Costco
Signing up for credit cards through partner links earns us a commission. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Here’s our full advertising policy: How we make money.
On the heels of the Delta SkyMiles deals we talked about earlier today, we have an opportunity to save on paid Delta flights. You’ll need to be a Costco member to take advantage of this sale, but if you are you can save 10% on Delta gift card purchases. This discount is available on gift cards of $500 or $1,000.
There isn’t an official end date listed, so it’s possible this offer could be pulled at anytime.
Delta gift card discount at Costco
If you’re going to be paying cash for flights you may as well save 10% on the purchase. Before you jump on this deal you’ll want to be aware of what you can and can’t use the gift cards for. These gift cards can’t be used to pay for baggage fees, inflight purchases, seat upgrades or “ancillary purchases.” According to the terms you can only use them for “air transport on Delta-airlines marketed flights.” You can also use these gift cards to pay for a Delta Vacations package if it includes air transport. If you hold a co-branded Delta credit card, those will give you access to perks like free checked bags and priority boarding.
It isn’t clear whether or not the gift cards can be used to pay for the taxes and fees on award flights and I personally haven’t ever tried. If you have please let me know and I’ll update the article, but to be safe I would assume that it won’t apply to award fees (especially on partner airlines). Also if you’re paying online, you can only use three Delta gift cards per transaction. If you need to use more you’ll have to call 800-225-1366 to book.
This is a decent opportunity to save on future paid flights while earning rewards with your travel credit card. Another added plus when paying for flights with a gift card is that they’ll still count as a revenue flight, so you’ll earn redeemable and elite miles for your trip.
