American Airlines Credit Card Welcome Bonuses Decreasing?
Folks are being told by American Airlines flight attendants that on January 31, 2018, the increased welcome bonuses on some American Airlines cards will be ending.
The current offers for the cards in question are:
- Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator – 60,000 American Airlines miles after making a purchase and paying the annual fee within the first 90 days of account opening
- Citi American Airlines Platinum Select – 60,000 American Airlines miles after spending $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of opening your account
We expect the increased bonus for the Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator to drop on January 31, 2018. But we don’t know whether the Citi American Airlines Platinum Select will follow suit. And we don’t know what the bonuses will be changed to.
With the current bonuses on the Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator and Citi American Airlines Platinum Select, you’ll earn 60,000 American Airlines miles after meeting the minimum spending requirements. So if you were considering these offers you may want to apply soon.
