Frontier has refurbished its credit card with new and improved benefits.
With the Barclays Frontier Airlines World Mastercard, you’ll earn 40,000 Frontier miles after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 90 days and pay the $79 annual fee. That’s enough for 2 round-trip flights in the US. Plus, you’ll earn lots more miles for spending with Frontier and at restaurants than the previous offer.
I’ll help you decide if this card is for you.
Updated Frontier Airlines Credit Card

In addition to the 40,000 Frontier miles you’ll receive after meeting minimum spending requirements and paying the annual fee, you’ll earn:
- 5 Frontier miles per $1 on Frontier purchases
- 3 Frontier miles per $1 on restaurant purchases
- 1 Frontier mile per $1 on everything else
- $100 flight voucher after every account anniversary after spending $2,500+ on purchases made with your card during the cardmembership year
- Zone 2 priority boarding
- NO foreign transaction fees
The annual fee is $79, NOT waived the first year.
You can also earn elite status by spending on the card. Spend enough and you’ll get perks like a free carry-on bag and seat assignment. Those things are SUPER valuable on Frontier, because they charge an arm and a leg for those types of “extras.”
Should You Get This Card?
If you’re an impassioned Frontier patron, this card is for you! For the 99% of us that prefer luxuries like cushioned seats and complimentary pretzels, there are plenty of MUCH BETTER cards to choose from.
A sign-up bonus worth 2 round-trip flights on Frontier isn’t exactly worth opening a credit card. Their prices are so low that you probably won’t save much money.
For example, a flight from Columbus to Orlando costs $97 round-trip. So using miles for 2 round-trip flights along this route will save you $194. And you’ll still have to pay for carry-on bags and anything extra.
There are lots of other cards out there with welcome bonuses worth hundreds (or potentially thousands) more than that.
For example, the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® comes with 60,000 American Airlines miles after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening. That’s enough for a round-trip flight to Europe from anywhere in the US! Or a one-way Business Class flight to Europe, which can cost ~$3,000! The information for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Frontier has made updates to their credit card. But it’s still not good enough to apply for, in my opinion.
The welcome bonus is enough for 2 round-trip flights within the US. But Frontier’s prices are so low, you won’t save much. Better to apply for a credit card that can save you hundreds and hundreds of dollars on travel.
Am I wrong about the Barclays Frontier Card? Do you plan to apply?
