A couple months ago, I told you that Groupon was giving folks 500 Alaska Airlines miles just for signing-up and making a Groupon Local purchase.

Now, via Mommy Points, the bonus has doubled!  You’ll earn 1,000 Alaska Airlines miles after you sign-up for Groupon and make a Groupon Local purchase over $30.  And existing customers can earn 4 Alaska Airlines miles per $1 on Groupon Local, Getaways, and Goods.

1,000 Alaska Airlines Miles Might Not Seem Like Much.  But Flights Under 700 Miles Only Cost 5,000 Alaska Airlines Miles! So a Flight From San Francisco to Seattle Is 5,000 Miles One-Way!

I’ll tell you what you need to know about this deal.

Earn 1,000 Alaska Airlines Miles With Groupon

Link:   1,000 Alaska Airlines Miles for New Groupon Members

Groupon is offering new members 1,000 Alaska Airlines miles to sign-up and make a purchase!  Here are the details:

  • This promotion is only for new members
  • You must spend $30+ on a Groupon Local offer to earn the bonus miles
  • Only valid for purchases made during the same session you join through this link
  • You can NOT combine this promotion with other offers, including 3rd party cash back portals
  • Certain items are excluded from this promotion, so read the fine print before checkout!

If you are NOT new to Groupon, you’ll still earn 4 Alaska Airlines miles per $1 on Groupon Local, Groupon Getaways, and Groupon Goods purchases.

Is This a Good Deal?

You can NOT stack this promotion with any other deals, like discount codes or airline and cash back portals.  So it’s worth doing the math to make sure you’re getting the most return for your purchase!  I like checking Cashback Monitor or Evreward to always make sure I’m getting the best deal.

That said, I imagine you will get the best deal with this promotion, especially if you’re making a purchase near the minimum spend amount.  If you plan to spend a lot, it might be a better idea to use another portal, and use this promotion when you’re making a ~$30 purchase.

Want More Alaska Airlines Miles?

There are plenty of ways to earn Alaska Airlines miles.  For example, you can open the Bank of America Alaska Airlines personal and small business cards, which come with 30,000 Alaska Airlines miles after making $1,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.

And remember, Alaska Airlines and Virgin America are merging!  So you can transfer Virgin America points to Alaska Airlines at a ratio of 1:1.3.

Bottom Line

If you’re new to Groupon, you’ll get 1,000 Alaska Airlines miles after signing-up and making a $30+ purchase with Groupon Local.

You can NOT combine this promotion with any other promotion codes or deals, including other airline and cash back portals.  So do the math to make sure you won’t get a better return through another coupon or portal!

Enjoy the easy miles!
