I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are my favorite kind of travel rewards. Whether I’m booking a flight or hotel room with one of their airline or hotel transfer partners, or booking travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, I can almost always find a way to use Ultimate Rewards points for free travel.
Simply put, they are easy to earn and insanely valuable to redeem. And many Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit cards offering incredible bonuses, like 80,000 points (worth $1,000+ in travel) after meeting minimum spending requirements on the Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, it’s easy to earn lots of Chase Ultimate Rewards points quickly.

Using Chase Ultimate Rewards Points for Free Travel Throughout the Year
The majority of the flights my family and I took this past year were round-trip coach flights within the US, and a few were international coach tickets to Europe. We used Chase Ultimate Rewards points to fly to spots like Santa Barbara, Denver, Chicago, and all the way to Portugal, too!

People are always asking me for credit card recommendations and in almost 100% of the cases I end up recommending a Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card.
For anyone with a small business or side hustle, the Ink Business Preferred is a must. And to those who don’t qualify for a small business credit card, my top choice is the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Almost everyone who’s near and dear to me has at least one of these cards, if not both! Friends don’t let friends pay for travel – that’s how the saying goes, right? 😉
The Ink Business Preferred is currently offering an 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That’s the biggest welcome bonus of any Chase Ultimate Rewards points earning card at the moment. And it’s worth a minimum of $1,000 in travel, and potentially lots more when you transfer your points to Chase’s travel partners, like United Airlines and Hyatt!
The Chase Sapphire Reserve comes with 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That’s worth at least $750 in travel when you redeem through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.
I fly almost exclusively on United Airlines because they offer lots of flights out of my smaller home airport, so earning Chase Ultimate Rewards points makes perfect sense for me and my family. And given their flexibility, I have no doubt they’d probably make sense for lots of y’all, too.
As a very conservative estimate, I’d say we easily saved over $10,000 in a single year using Chase Ultimate Rewards points for 24 flights!
