As many airlines are beginning to charge more for costs such as checked bags, Frontier Airlines is going a different direction.  They are now waiving fees for changing a flight 90+ days from departure.  Previously, the fee was $99.

This brings Frontier Airlines a bit closer to Southwest, which doesn’t charge any change fees.

If You Need A No-Frills Flight, Frontier Is A Great Way To Go To Save Money!

Frontier Airlines’ New Change Fee Policy

The new changes fees are as follows:

  • Any changes made 90+ days from departure – $0 fee
  • Any changes made 14 to 89 days from departure – $49 fee
  • Any changes made less than 13 days from departure – $99 fee

In addition to any change fees, you’ll also pay the difference in fare between the flights.

If you want to avoid all change fees you can pay for The Works at booking.  This service costs $57 to $83 each way (based on round trip purchase).  Not only will you avoid all change fees with this package, but you’ll get a free checked bag and carry-on.  And your fare will be fully refundable (when canceled 24+ hours before departure), which is not the case with other tickets.  You’ll also get other perks like the ability to choose the “best available seat” and Zone 1 boarding.

This announcement is great for folks who plan their trips far in advance!  Now you’ll have a bit more breathing room knowing you can change a flight 90+ days in advance without any stiff penalties.
