Here’s some good news for Disney fans – the Magic Kingdom has announced new cruise dates and now extends to a few new destinations on the high seas.
Currently, there are 113 available cruise itineraries available with dates between January 2020 and May 2020. Cruises range from just a few nights to a multi-week excursion. There’s really something for everyone – isn’t that part of what makes Disney so enchanting?

I did a bit of research to figure out what’s new and noteworthy with the Disney Cruise Lines. Here’s what I discovered…
Exciting New Destinations
There are 2 new big pieces of news regarding Disney Cruise Line destinations.
1. New Orleans Added
Disney has just released dates for a new route that originates in New Orleans and the first sailing sold out in hours!
Starting in the Big Easy will appeal to many cruisers who might decide to extend their trip with a few days in New Orleans on either end of the cruise. Ships departing from this port will sail to the Bahamas with a stop at Paradise Cay and other ports in the Western Caribbean.
2. Hawaii Is Back!
After a 5-year break, cruising to Hawaii is now an option again. Cruises will start sailing from either Vancouver or Honolulu and will explore several of the Hawaiian islands. This sounds like such a relaxing way to enjoy a week at sea (and on the sand)!
What’s Coming Next?
It’s no secret that Disney has been negotiating to open a new destination in the Bahamas and it looks like the government just gave them the green light to move forward with this!
Disney is planning to develop over 700 acres as a new port for their cruise line on the island of Eleuthera (doesn’t that just sound like a magical Disney kingdom already?). This will be located ~75 miles away from their other popular location in the Bahamas, Paradise Cay. Wouldn’t it be cool to be one of the first people to see and explore this new location?
It sounds like paradise – oh wait, Disney already has Paradise covered. It sounds like a dream come true.
How to Book a Disney Cruise
Bookings opened a few weeks ago and you can view all available cruise itineraries here. If you’re planning to book a Disney cruise, it’s best to make your reservation sooner rather than later. These cruises have sold out quickly in the past, and you’ll want to make sure you’ve got your spot reserved just in case that happens again for the 2020 dates.
