Wells Fargo Propel American Express® card Is Back!
The Wells Fargo Propel American Express card will come with 30,000 bonus points (worth $300 in cash back, travel, gift cards, or other rewards) after spending $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of card opening. Here’s what else you can expect with this new card offer:
- 3 points per $1 spent on travel purchases (flights, hotels, rental cars, etc.)
- 3 points per $1 spent on dining (eating out and ordering in), gas stations, and select streaming services
- 1 point per $1 for all other purchases
- Cell phone insurance (up to $600 per claim with a $25 deductible)
- NO foreign transaction fees
- NO annual fee
If you spend a lot in these categories anyway, then earning 3% back is a good deal, especially for a card with no annual fee. And your points are worth 1 cent a piece when you redeem them for rewards like cash back, travel, or gift cards.
If you also have the Wells Fargo Visa® Signature® Card, you can redeem your points for 1.5 cents each toward airfare through the Wells Fargo portal. Which means you’ll effectively get 4.5% back toward airfare for purchases in travel, dining, gas station, and select streaming service categories!

Note: Wells Fargo cards have been notoriously difficult for folks to open if they aren’t already a Wells Fargo customer (bank account, loan, etc.). But Wells Fargo claims that they will NOT be as particular with this new card. So more miles & points enthusiasts can open it!
