Good news for anyone planning a Spring Break trip! United Airlines is adding boatloads of flights between its hub cities and a number of popular spring break destinations, including the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, and Costa Rica!
What’s extra special about this United Airlines news, you might ask? Well, they’re a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner (one of my personal favorites)! In fact, I almost always fly United Airlines because I’ve found it’s easier to find last-minute award seats with them, compared to other airlines.
Plus, it only takes a few clicks on the keyboard to transfer Ultimate Rewards points from cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card to United Airlines. Making it extra easy to ensure you’re relaxing on the beach in no time at all!
United Airlines’ hub cities include Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. So even if you don’t live in one of these cities, there’s bound to be an airport in your part of the country that’s servicing these new routes.
All told these new flights will account for 41,000+ additional seats. That means more opportunities for free travel using miles and points!
The increased flights include popular spring break destinations in the US like Destin, Palm Beach, South Padre Island, Tuscon, Honolulu, and Maui. And international destinations like Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize.
United Airlines charges 20,000 United Airlines miles for domestic round-trip short-haul flights 700 miles or less. Coach flights over 700 miles can cost as little as 25,000 United Airlines miles round-trip. And coach award tickets to Mexico and Central America begin at just 35,000 United Airlines miles round-trip.
That means the 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus after meeting minimum spending requirements from the Chase Ink Business Preferred, for example, is enough for at least 2 round-trip coach tickets (and potentially more, depending on the route) to any of these destinations! Or you could also apply for a personal card – the United℠ Explorer Card currently has a limited-time (ends January 8, 2019) increased sign-up bonus of 65,000 United Airlines miles after meeting the card’s tiered minimum spending requirements.
You can read more about why Chase Ultimate Rewards points are the most valuable rewards currency. And check out this page for more details regarding the additional flights from United Airlines.
