Update: One or more card offers in this post are no longer available. Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.Good news for Chase Southwest cardholders! With this targeted offer, you can earn a 15% bonus on points by having a certain amount of Southwest points (earned with your Chase Southwest card) post to your account between February 1 and April 30, 2019.
The bonus points will count towards earning the Southwest Companion Pass. Which is even better news, of course, unless you plan on taking advantage of the limited-time Southwest Companion Pass credit card offers!
Here’s more about this targeted offer to earn bonus Southwest points.
To earn the bonus, the points will have to post to your account between February 1 and April 30, 2019. The maximum number of bonus points you can earn is 15,000. And eligible points will have to post to your Southwest account under the under the ‘Credit Card’ category, meaning only points earned with your card will count toward the promotion.
Folks have reported getting different offers, including:
- Get a 15% bonus when you have at least 10,000 points post to your account
- Get a 15% bonus when you have at least 25,000 points post to your account
If you’re targeted and have just recently applied for a Chase Southwest card, but have yet to receive your sign-up bonus, there’s a chance you’ll earn bonus points on the sign-up bonus if it posts during the promotional period. But I wouldn’t count on it because the terms do specifically say that bonus points from a “new credit card promotion” will not be eligible for this offer.
But for the most part, I don’t think this offer is that great unless you’re just shy of the 110,000 Southwest points you need to earn within a calendar year to get the Southwest Companion Pass. Because you’ll likely do better using some of the other best credit cards for travel for your bonus category spending.
If targeted, do you plan on taking advantage of this deal?
