I Can’t Wait to See the Look On My Daughter’s Face When She Sees Her First Real-Life Reindeer! How Amazing Would It Be to Take a Sleigh Ride in the Arctic Circle?

I’m not going to lie, I’m a tad jealous my entry doesn’t qualify. 😉  But I wanted to share with y’all what I’d do with the prize if I won!  Maybe it will inspire someone to enter and start planning their own awesome adventure.

What I’d Do With the $4,500 Travel Sweepstakes Prize

I have a long list of must-sees when it comes to my travel wish list.  But no doubt, one of my top travel goals is to take my daughter to Santa’s Village in Lapland, Finland.

She’ll soon be approaching the age where she’d go bonkers for an experience like this.  So I’d better start planning!  Because from my research thus far, this place can book out over a year in advance.

It Would Be a Magical Experience to Wander Around Santa’s Village at Night!

Santa’s Village

Way up in the Arctic Circle in Finland, you’ll find Santa Claus Village.  It’s world famous for it’s Christmas festivities, including sleigh rides, lighted trees, cookies with Santa, and more.  And ever since I had a child, I’ve known I wanted to plan a trip there!

I think it’s especially neat that this particular destination is also known for being a great place to see the Northern Lights.  And along with kid-friendly activities, there are outings adults can enjoy too, like cross country skiing, snowmobile rides, and ice fishing tours.

Santa IS Real! I Mean Look At That Beard!

So if I were to win the $4,500 travel sweepstakes prize, that’s what I’d use it for!  But because I’m ineligible, I plan on using miles & points to get my family there.

My strategy (like it’s always been) will be to rack up more flexible rewards points to help offset the cost of the trip.  Because last I checked, Santa doesn’t accept miles & points!

I especially love earning and using Chase Ultimate Rewards points, from cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card.  Because I can use them for most of the big trip expenses we’d have, like airfare, hotels, and a rental car.

I’m also considering the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, just for simplicity’s sake.  With a valuable sign-up bonus and 2X Venture miles on every purchase it’s a solid choice.  Plus, the miles you earn are incredibly easy to redeem.

I also noticed that Santa Claus Village is actually listed on Hotels.com.  And with the Capital One Venture card, you can earn 10 Venture miles per $1 at hotels via a dedicated hotels.com link through January 31, 2020!

Bottom Line

If I were the winner of the Million Mile Secrets $4,500 travel sweepstakes, I’d use the prize to take my family to see Santa in Lapland, Finland!

Unfortunately, I can’t win the big prize.  But YOU can!  So be sure to enter for your chance to win And come back every day and comment for additional entries through May 31, 2018.
