When it comes to a small-business owner, you might think of someone running their own company and generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue. But the truth is, even small things like reselling items on eBay, mowing lawns, tutoring and teaching music lessons could qualify you as a business owner.
As long as you have a for-profit motive, generating even one dollar of income qualifies you for the best business credit cards. You’ll have a wider range of rewards programs and benefits to choose from, many of which could help make your life as a small-business owner much easier.
If you’re looking to simplify your life as a business owner, consider applying for the Ink Business Unlimited Credit Card. Even though it didn’t make our list of the best Chase credit cards, this card still has a ton of value to offer. For instance, you can earn a welcome bonus worth $500 and earn an unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases — all for no annual fee.
Here are a few reasons why you should consider applying for the Chase Ink Business Unlimited.
No annual fee
One of the things we like about no-annual-fee cards is that they don’t cost you anything to keep in your wallet. The Chase Ink Business Unlimited has no annual fee, so it won’t add to your expenses as a small-business owner. Even if you’re not completely convinced that this is the right card for you, or your spending habits change in the future, the worst that could happen is you’re stuck with another few ounces of plastic in your wallet.
With the Chase Ink Business Unlimited, you can earn a welcome bonus of $500 (50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening. That’s a pretty lucrative sign-up bonus, especially for a card that carries no annual fee.
Ultimate Rewards points can be redeemed for 1 cent per point. You can learn more about what you can do with these points in our Chase Ultimate Rewards review.
Valuable bonus categories
As a business owner, you probably already have a thousand other things on your plate, and the last item you might need is something else to worry about.
Enter the Chase Ink Business Unlimited. This card is as simple as they come when it comes to earning rewards. You’ll earn an unlimited 1.5% cash back (1.5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar) on all purchases regardless of the store, purchase type or dollar amount. In other words, you won’t have to worry about rotating bonus categories or caps on how much you can earn.

Travel and purchase protection
As a Chase Ink Business Unlimited cardmember, you also get purchase and travel protections that could end up saving you hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars. Its purchase protection, for example, will protect eligible purchases against theft or damage for up to 120 days — aAnd the limit is a whopping $10,000 per item and $50,000 per account.
Extended warranty protection can also save the day, especially on big-ticket items. Eligible items with an original manufacturer’s warranty of three years or less will get an extra year of warranty protection if purchased with the card. So not only can you save money upfront by avoiding the need to buy a third-party warranty, but you could also save money in the long run if you ever need to file a claim.
You’ll also get travel protections like roadside dispatch and primary rental car coverage. Roadside dispatch can help with things like tire changes, jump starts for dead batteries and lockout service. And primary rental car coverage can save you thousands if you’re on a business trip and your rental car is damaged by theft or collision.
Pairing the Ink Business Unlimited with Chase Ultimate Rewards cards
One of the cool things about the Ink Business Unlimited is that it earns flexible Ultimate Rewards points. You can redeem them for gift cards or cash, and they can be worth even more if you pair it with another Chase card.
For instance, if you have certain Ultimate Rewards points earning cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you can combine your points to have them be worth much more through the Chase Travel portal. Pairing it with one of those eligible cards also gives you the ability to transfer your points to Chase travel partners for things like hotels and airfare, which is usually the best way to maximize the value of your points.
Small business owners tend to run into complications every now and then, but the Chase Business Unlimited won’t be one of them. It’s easy to earn and redeem rewards as you’ll earn an unlimited 1.5% cash back (1.5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar) on every purchase. There’s no need to keep track of which store you’re in, what type of purchase you’re making or the current rotating bonus categories.
You can also earn a welcome bonus worth $500. Because the card carries no annual fee, there are practically zero downsides to applying for the card.
