If you’ve ever booked a flight and wondered if Wi-Fi and other amenities would be available on your plane, Routehappy can help!

Find Your In-Flight Happiness with Routehappy!

Find out how this app can help you travel in comfort!

How Does RouteHappy Work?

Link:   Routehappy

With Routehappy you can compare the comfort level of different flights based on features such as:

  • Legroom
  • In-Flight Entertainment
  • Wi-Fi
  • Power Outlets

You can’t see this information when searching for flights on airline sites such as United Airlines.

Find The Most Comfortable Flight With Routehappy
The Only Way to Compare Flights on United Airlines Is by Price, Flight Time, and On-Time Performance

There are 2 ways you can search with Routehappy.

Find The Most Comfortable Flight With Routehappy
Search for Flights by Entering Your Destination and Travel Dates

Note:  Southwest flight results are NOT available when searching for flights on Routehappy.  But you can enter a specific Southwest flight number to learn more about in-flight features.

Or if you’ve already booked a flight or have 1 in mind, just select the “Find your flight” tab.

Find The Most Comfortable Flight With Routehappy
Enter Your Flight Information to Find Out What Amenities Will Be Offered on Your Flight

You will then get a list of amenities available on your flight.

This Flight Includes Extra Wide Seats, Wi-Fi, Streaming Video, and Power Adapters!

You’ll also see their “happiness scores.”

Will This Flight Put a Smile on Your Face?

According to their website, Routehappy scores are based on aircraft, seat, amenities, trip duration, and ratings.

However, there are no details on the exact algorithm they use to come up with these scores.  And happiness is very subjective.  So I would take these scores with a grain of salt.

Here’s a cute video from Routehappy that explains how the site works:

Is This a Useful Tool?

Personally, when I book a paid flight, the major factors I look at are the price and miles I’ll earn.  But all else being equal (or close to), it’s nice to know which flight will provide the most comfort!

Plus, I Like to Work on the Plane! So I’ll Be Happy to Know If My Flight Has Wi-Fi!

This could also be a great tool for folks who pay for expensive Business and First Class flights.  If you’re paying the money, you might as well make sure you’re getting a flight with comfortable seats!

And if you’re tall or have back pain, Routehappy could be the difference between a painful or relaxing flight in coach with extra legroom!

However, there are NO guarantees your flight will include the amenities described on Routehappy.  That’s because sometimes there are last-minute equipment changes or fleet adjustments.

Google Flights Has Teamed Up With Routehappy!

The good news is you can now get most of Routehappy’s data when you use Google Flights.  I love it when I can get everything done on 1 site!

But when you do a search your results will only list whether or not a flight has Wi-Fi.

You Can Compare Wi-Fi on Flights With a Quick Search on Google Flights

So there’s no ability to do an easy side-by-side comparison.  You’ll have to select a flight to get more information and then hit the back button to view another.

Google Flights Will Only Show You Amenities Once You Choose a Specific Flight

That said, this is a new partnership and I hope that Google Flights continues to improve the functionality of this new feature!

Bottom Line

Routehappy lets you compare in-flight features to find the most comfortable ride.  With this site you can find out how much legroom you’ll have and whether or not there’s Wi-Fi, in-seat entertainment, and power outlets.

Plus, you can now find this information on Google Flights too!

While these features aren’t my 1st priority when booking a flight, for some folks it is!  And if the price and miles are the same, I want the more cozy ride!

As it becomes easier for passengers to compare airline amenities, I hope it will create more competition to give us an enjoyable in-flight experience!

For paid flights, do factors such as legroom, Wi-Fi, and entertainment choices influence your choice of airline at all?

Thanks for sharing this tool! I will definitely be using it! We just got back from a great 10 days in Italy with a group of 8–2 families with 2 kids each (7/8 of the tickets were award tickets!!) But our return flight routed from Zurich to Newark on United had the crappiest in flight entertainment–couldn’t choose movies, nothing for kids and to top it off, it quit working all together 2 hours into the flight! I was NOT prepared to entertain the kids for the whole flight–plus no power ports to charge back up iPads since there were no movies. From now on i will check on this before booking!!!! They did give us a sad little 1250 points per person for the lack of entertainment.

My husband has always had a problem when it comes to the leg room on all the flights we used. I always had a problem with the entertainment and WiFi. This tool will serve us right. It sounds very amazing!

My husband and I have enjoyed this hobby for the past 3 years… though on a small scale, which is just right for us! Question: Twice now, we have had trips come up on shorter notice… 45 – 60 days and we’ve found ourselves without hotel points to use. What are the “quickest” routes to take tto get travel rewards for last minute travel? Do you have experience with certain cards having the fastest posting of rewards? If we pay our minimum spend prior to getting a bill – do the points post faster??? Are certain chains/cards faster in their rewards posting? If I apply for a card on June 15…. is it conceivable that points could post by Aug 1?
